My LO (nearly 3 months old) sleeps amazing 9pm until about 2.30am, I then feed, change his bum and rock him back to sleep. He’ll sleep for another 2 hours and then he starts to whinge, groan, grunt and I start thinking he’s awake but when I look his eyes are still closer..what is this?! How do I get him to stop? Cos he’s still asleep!

Active sleep? My LO does this a lot but eventually falls back to sleep. Sometimes if she’s flailing her arms a bit I hold them together on her chest until she relaxes and sleeps, put dummie back in or just rest my hand on her chest and gently tap. These things tend to help her stop making all those noises!
this is what I initially thought but Google said active sleep should stop around this age.
But I’ll give them tips a go tonight and see how he goes on! X

My little boy is almost 3 months old and he has also just started doing this the last couple of nights. I’m going to try some of these tips too!! 😊

Yeahhh it could potentially be some sort of sleep regression as there’s normally one around this time. Not sure what it actually entails but might be!!
Give those a try and see if any helps! The amount of times I’ve fallen asleep with my hand on her chest 😂

My 11wo has started doing this the past 3-4 nights, I’m pretty sure it’s coincided with when the room has cooled down and I’m suspicious feeling cold is pushing until a really active sleep. She settled and immediately went quiet this morning when I put a blanket over her, maybe worth having a cellular blanket ready you could try?

Body temp drops around 4am, in the winter with my first I set the thermostat to come on at 3am, and it definitely helped. Could be gas from the 2am feed- I find mine is harder to wind in the night (probably because I cba!). If my LB fidgets I crank up the white noise briefly sometimes that helps settle him
