20 weeks scan

Hey guys,

I had my 20 weeks scan yesterday. Everything appeared to be normal however the baby’s tummy is bigger than what is should be. I have to have another scan at 28 weeks. Did anyone else have this? He said could be normal and level out or could mean I may have diabetes. I have to have the diabetes test at 24weeks.

Hey lovely, I didn't have the same problem, mine was a ventricle in the brain was a little big so we had a rescan yesterday and all was fine so I wouldn't worry to much about it, measurements aren't always accurate anyway x

How about if you take the diabetes test now in a private clinic? The nhs makes you wait too long and that might make you anxious.

At my 20 week scan one of my babies was diagnosed with club foot, and there are some other blood tests I decided to take via the probate route for a piece of mind since the nhs didn’t offer them (they wouldn’t even mention them), but waiting so long without knowing things are ok is daunting

Hey, I had this in my last pregnancy, I had scans every couple weeks, had to do the diabetes test twice (it was negative both times) and they kept telling me I'd have like a 10lbs baby. My baby was born o the 48th centile, weighing 7lbs 13oz, at 39weeks. The scan measurements aren't always the most accurate so try not to worry too much x

I had this! Babies tummy was measuring in the 94th % and sonographer said if he goes up to 95th I need to gestational diabetes test. They rescanned me 2 weeks later (not sure why they’re making you wait 8 weeks for a rescan??) and he’s now in the 75th % - sonographer said he would have just been in a funny position making his tummy appear larger than it actually is - so they’re not worried x

the same measurement as me. I read it could also be that the baby has a full bladder. Xx

don’t we all 😂 I wee 10,000 times a day and still seem to have a full bladder lol! I think we’ve just got to trust the sonographers - if they say it’s normal, then it’s normal. That’s what I’m trying to believe anyway. My husband is 6ft 2 - his whole family are super tall so I’m probably set to have a big baby anyway and I’m not showing any symptoms of GD so I’m not worried at this stage x

I think they like to scare the life out of you. The baby is really long aswell apparently x

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
