Being told my bump is too big 😳

Need a little rant! Honestly why is it acceptable to go around telling a pregnant woman how big she is and being shocked at how long she has left?! Yesterday in work so many people thought it was acceptable to come up to me and ask how long I've got left because I look like I'm going to pop and that I'm massive! 🙃 it's made me feel super self conscious about how I look now when I was already finding it difficult adjusting and finding clothes that make me feel confident. When I was pregnant with my daughter it was covid so I was working from home so I didn't have to deal with any of this! Picture for reference... I'm nearly 27 weeks

You look great I’m the same size ignore them! Or just say something sarcastic back they probs don’t realise tbh I’m sure no harms meant just people don’t think!

I had this comment too & "that's going to be a better big baby" , only to find out I'm measuring one week smaller than average! So everyone's "massive" seems to be subjective. It's very annoying!

Oh I’m waiting for people to start saying this when I go to HQ next week. You’re not huge at all!! Xx

Avatar

I’ve had the same too, but my midwife measured me on Sunday & said my bump is the perfect size & exactly where it should be so now when people tell me I’m massive I just say “actually no, I’m perfect size” xx

Asif! You look lovely. Hate the fact people have opinions when everyone holds different and it goes on so many factors ? You’re glowing ❤️

I’ve had the opposite someone asked when I was due and I said december and she was like omg but you’re so small? Cue me worrying for the whole day that somethings wrong with baby 🙃 why can’t people just keep their opinions to themselves lol.

You have the perfect bump. Be proud of yourself .. your growing a beautiful little baby inside. Don't worry about anyone commenting on your size.. every bump and size is different. ☺️

I feel the same! In the last two days I’ve had “oh my god you’re huge!” “Wow, it’s like you’re 9months already!” And “it looks like twins”
SO RUDE and unecessary!!!!
As hard as it is, just try to ignore them and just focus on you and baby. You look great and as long as you’re both healthy who cares how big our bumps look. 💜

Honestly, you look fantastic and whoever says otherwise needs to go suck it. Second pregnancies have the tendency to show earlier and bigger, from what I have seen. I get what you mean, though. When I was pregnant with my twins, I was also about 27 or 28 weeks, I was HUGE. Like double your belly. And when people would say that I was going to pop any day now, I'd just smile, say no and walk away. People will get the hint!

You look great/totally normal and I hate this too. I’ve sworn off public because of it.

Girls thank you so much for your lovely comments! I really appreciate you all making me feel better and I'm sorry that so many of you feel the same! 💜 It's a shame that people need to be so opinionated about EVERYTHING! and i remember from when my daughter was born that the opinions just keep coming when they are here! 🤦‍♀️

I get this allll the time. I am getting to irritated by it especially by men I have started telling them I am going to comment on their body also or I snap back and tell them they should go to the gym to work on their bodies. I am usually very tiny not pregnant but when I am pregnant I just instantly look pregnant and get big instantly. A woman said it to me the other day and I just looked at her and said you should know better that we don't like to hear things about our bodies like that.

Avatar

Six weeks ago I was being told I looked massive and those same people now are telling me I don’t look like I’m 26wks. I’m going to start making comments back on their weight gain/loss or other aspects of their physical appearance 😂

Avatar

I had loads of this too- I got asked if I was having twins by some random woman at the swimming pool 🤣 I just said my baby is lucky because I gave him such a big home already :)

Avatar

Same! Everyone always tells me I’m carrying twins 🙄 my belly grows very early on but I don’t care I love my pregnant belly 🥰

Avatar

I mean you absolutely do not look like you’re going to pop any second- clearly these people do not have an accurate guidance on how women measure when pregnant 😂 honestly I’d tell them it’s rude! Someone told me I was huge the other day and I said it’s a good job I’m not going to say the same back! She looked mortified!!

Avatar

I got asked in work today (by a man of course) ‘are you sure it’s just one in there??’ I’ve been a wee bit self conscious about my bump at times worrying it’s too big but when it was measured by midwife I was actually measuring a week behind! Just ignore the stupid comments, your bump looks absolutely normal to me!

Avatar

I could have written this myself!! I was 24 weeks last week and so many people told me how big I was and asking if it was twins! I went to the midwife today and she measured bang on average for 25 weeks. People just feel the need to comment!

Avatar

I think the general consensus is every bump is different but I think you look really well and right on target. I get the clothes situation tho I feel like from conception nothing has fitted!

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭

Anxious/depressed

My first pregnancy symptom was my anxiety out of nowhere. I feel like I'm a bundle of nerves and just so scared of everything. Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you managing? Are we contributing it to hormones?
