C section stories please

Honestly elective c sections are nothing like the horror stories.

You'll only be in theatre around an hour and baby will be out in first 10/15 mins... the rest of the time flys by! All being well they'll probably discharge you the next day.

The only pain I felt was a few seconds sting for the needles and the recovery was achey but totally manageable on paracetamol and ibuprofen taken religiously for 2 weeks. I was able to carry him in car seat briefly the next day. Got down to change him on the floor. Was putting washing in and wiping spills on the floor a few days later... it's all doable slowly and carefully.

We were out walking week 2 and visiting family. Week 3 I drove.

I had a c section saturday after failed induction and even tho it was classed as an emergency it was an amazing experience honestly id do it all over again. I werent up and walking until the next day as i hemmoraged after it but the next day i was walking around you just have to keep on top of pain meds. I was discharged tuesday and can basically do all normal things but have to take it slow as now im anemic xx

I had an emergency c-section with my first and it wasn't anything like I expected. Baby was out within 5 mins of them beginning and all was good! The recovery was hard but by day 10 I was out for a walk to register him 😊 keep on top of the pain meds and get help where you can. I found it hardest to sit up or cough but get a pillow to hold on your incision and it helps. Take your time. There's no rush to do anything until you feel up to it!x

Depends what your health situation looks like before. I want to avoid a section. Even if elected, because I've had major abdominal surgery before and I know that my other illnesses make it very difficult for my body to recover and its not the same recovery as for an otherwise healthy individual. I have joint hypermobility and other conditions which cause chronic inflammation. If you have no pre existing conditions then you might have a great recovery!

I had an emergency c section. The pain the first few days was intense - but I was still in the hospital so they kept me well topped up with the pain meds.

After those first few days it really wasn't as bad I was expecting. It was still painful but no where near as much as I thought it would be.

Even the initial pain in those first few days wasn't as bad as I expected tbh.

I had to have an elective C-section due to my epileptic seizures and honestly the C-section itself was calm the doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing to me and ever so kind while I was freaking out however due to the spinal blocked it messed up my legs as I have cerebral palsy and I couldn't move my legs or get out of bed for 4 days. I was stuck basically paralyzed when I was able to get out of bed and move around again the pain wasn't unbearable I just kept having to take the pain meds. I'd do the C-section again if I could 🤍 it's not all bad just think you get to meet your little one faster this way xx

I literally felt no pain , not even once. Had my c section exactly a week ago. Was petrified at first but went for it because thought it was the safest choice for both myself and the baby. I made such a right decision. Despite ultrasound saying the baby estimates 3 kg and 400 gram and I can easily wait for natural labour to start, something in me was just saying that c section asap is the best choice. I had my opp at 38.5 weeks. The doctor who performed surgery said I made such a right choice. Baby weights 4 kg plus double wrapped umbilical cord. She said this would 💯 be emergency section with a lot of distress for the baby if I would go for a natural labour . Please don’t always trust ultrasounds ( 2 days before the opp they couldn’t see umbilical cord being wrapped twice. The actual section hasn’t started off all smooth. The anesthetic doctor took ages to find my veins for the catheter and even for spinal block. It took her 10 attempts on spinal

After spinal it all went super quickly
