My lil guy was feeding so well during the days like every 2 hrs and then he was filling up in evenings. He would eat 10 min each breast at least and sometimes even more. He would go to bed at 9ish and wake me up once during the night. Around 3/4AM. And he even gave me until 6AM one morning.
Now some reason it has changed. He goes to bed after 10PM now and wakes up 1/2AM then 4/5AM and then want to sleep in till 8-10AM. He feeds every hour /hour and half during day now and only eats a total of 12-15min a time?
How do i get him back to his old schedule it was working so well. Giving me longer stretches.
We ddnt change anything. He is the one changing

He's probably growing and wanting to eat more right now, my baby is going though a similar thing he used to only wake up once every night and he now wakes up multiple times. I'm sure he'll go back to his normal schedule once he's done with his little growth spurt

Sleep regressions and growth spurts will change a babies habit. Around 8 weeks they go through a sleep regression because they are now creating their own melatonin.

thank u! Do u think its neccessary for me to make sure he has to nap in darkness throught the day?

thank you! I hope so. Any tips to get him to go to bed earlier than 10pm and sleep through night haha

I wouldn’t because then he’s going to expect that. What I do is I dim the living room down and just go off of natural lighting so it’s semi dark but light enough that he knows it’s still daytime

I wish lol, i just follow my babies schedule and BF on demand it's rough but if doesn't want to wake up or go to sleep he won't so i don't even bother trying

thank you yes. Ive been letting him nap with our light from windows in the living room on his lounger next to me? Or sometimes in his bassinet.
I was just wondering coz people keep saying the darkness helps them produce melatonin!? For better sleep at night

yes it will help produce the melatonin but you don’t want to create the habit of having to have it be pitch black for him to fall asleep during the daytime. I did it with my first and it was difficult sometimes to run errands or do things cause he just wouldn’t sleep during the day

if I’m really struggling like today I’ll go into a dark room to get him to sleep and once he hits a deep sleep I bring him into the living room with the light lol

It might be growth spurt that’s what my lactation consultants told me mine schedule change from 2 hrs to on demand this week 🫠
