Question for OBs if any are on here…

I was a high risk for cord prolapse because of polyhydraminos. I was induced at 35w-already dilated to 6cm and 80% effaced at the time. My doc induces with pitocin, does a controlled water break, and then leaves the floor to go do a workout in the basement(we we’re on the 4th floor).. my labor progressed real quick after my waters breaking with my other two kids.. 37-38 minutes after she breaks my water, my sons head came out.. contraction happened and my body just did it on its own while my nurse is telling me not to push because doc isn’t there.. head comes out.. 30+ seconds go by, nurse calls for the doc and the charge nurse, and I push him out the rest of the way as the charge and other nurses come in.. nurses cut the cord and take him to the warmer.. THEN my OB comes in, after he’s been delivered.. she says she had to run up 5 flights of stairs because the elevator was down.. all she was there for was to draw the cord blood and watch me deliver the placenta..

Was it appropriate or even okay for her to leave the floor after breaking my waters?

I’m not an OB but a lot of the time doctors aren’t there during the progression. And just get called in when you’re about to push. That’s what the nurses are for. Yeah she probably shouldn’t have went to work out or should have stayed on the floor but also a lot of people don’t go that quick when in labor so she probably just didn’t expect it. She might not have had time to do a workout at other times and probably thought oh I got at least 30 min before anything happens and if someone does I’ll have time to go up. Not knowing the elevator wouldn’t work and that you went so quick. Sure it’s annoying she missed it but I think as long as she wasn’t doing anything terrible or purposely ignoring you I think it’s fine

we had started pitocin at 7am. At 10, she stripped my membranes, and then at 1 she broke my waters.. then left.. I didn’t have any pain meds so it was very intense. I screamed at the nurse that he was coming but she just told me not to push and to breath through.. I think I went from 8cm to 10cm in like 10-15 minutes.

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

i really want another baby

i am merely a few months pp but i want another baby, but i am scared of the age gap (2 under 2) and also with everything going on in the world i just think its not the best idea at the moment but i am having crazy baby fever and miss having a newborn🥹

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

20week scan!!

i had my 20week scan yesterday, everything looked okay on baby and we found out the gender!! it’s a girl 🩷🩷. but they said that my placenta is too close to my pelvis and they need to do extra scans to check on it? has anyone else been told this?
