Tinzaparin injections during pregnancy

I've had my first consultant appointment today. I had the most lovely lady! I was so nervous about this appointment after having a bad experience with a midwife pre pregnancy (my sister was pregnant). She basically told me I would be very stupid to have another baby due to having previous c sections and I could die!

Due to having previous c sections, my age and my weight, I'm at high risk of blood clots so they really recommend daily tinzaparin injections from 28 weeks pregnant. I've had them after birth before, they aren't the nicest and they really make me bruise!! But I've never had them before having a baby.

Has anyone else had the recommendation for this?? I'm really unsure what to do 😔

I’ve been told I’ll need to start these from 28 weeks onwards too- not looking forward to it 😞

I have done enoxiparine from 6 to 16 weeks pregnant and stopped them after as a precaution. They are very similar to this one I guess, you bruise, it's not great but definitely with time you get the hang of it and you bruise less. You got this, you will be okay :)

I’ve been told the same. I’m having them from 28 weeks to 6weeks after baby is born, I’m really scared of needles so I’m gonna struggle doing them 😭

Thanks girls, it's reassuring that I'm not the only one!

I did have heavy blood clots after my third baby, so I think I'm going to go ahead and have them, especially as I'm being sterilised at the same time this time xx

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Rolling milestone at 5 months - What’s typical ?

Good morning ladies,

My daughter will be 5 months old tomorrow, but there’s still no sign of her rolling. She does tummy time and loves lying on her mat, playing with hanging toys above her and to the sides, but she only lifts her legs and doesn’t seem interested in rolling or moving sideways yet.

Anyone else the same or have your babies already learnt how to roll yet ?

Thank you
