Experiences with Cervidil and Pitocin?

If you’ve been induced or needed Cervidil and or Pitocin, can you please share your experience? My due date is tomorrow and I’m being induced at 8am but I’m only about 50% effaced and not dilated at all. I’m nervous how my body will react to these knowing I’m not really naturally close to labor.

I’m choosing to be induced due to work and familial help constraints so please don’t judge! I just want to prepare as best as I can for what I know will be a long labor process.

I went into labor naturally but they did give me pitocin once I got my epidural, they ended up turning it back off almost immediately bc it made my contractions too close together

I was induced and they gave me pitocin.

I was induced and when I got the pictocin I was at 4 cm and had been for at least 3 days and after I got it the contractions started quickly and I had him about 5 1/2 hours later.

I was induced and they started me off with a dose of miso which is an oral cervix ripening pill. I started my induction at 1 cm dilated 75% effaced. I had my first dose of miso at 8 pm, I think they started me on pitocin around 4 am, and baby was in my arms by 9 am. My labor and delivery couldn’t have been any smoother, and I pushed for less than 10 minutes.

I had heard way too many induction horror stories and was so nervous about being induced. I hope my positive experience will make you feel a little less nervous! Good luck momma, you’ll be fine.

I was also given miso (oral cervix ripening medication) with my first. Started 0cm dilated and 70-80%effaced. With two doses of miso, labor started for me and I didn’t even need pitocin.

About 7 hours of labor until I started pushing. Pushed for two hours (but it wasn’t bad), and she was born. I had an epidural so most of that time I was super comfy and only felt pressure. Couldn’t have asked for a better induction

My experience was very similar to this ^ pretty smooth and I labored for less then 11 hours total. However once I started pushing and broke my water baby was face down (not head down), so I did have to get a c section. Had she been in position though I think it all would have been seamless, my body responded really well to the meds. She just wanted to be stubborn and not turn in time. 🙃

Had two rounds of cervidil. It brought on the contractions but did not help me dilate 😔

I was induced starting at 9pm Wednesday with an oral dose of cytotec. I was ~3cm dilated and 30%. They started me on pitocin at around 1am (I think) and labored naturally until around 10AM. I was at 5cm when I decided to get the epidural.. from there it was super easy. He was born with 2 pushes at 5:39PM on Wednesday. not at all how I expected/ wanted my birth to go (was hoping to go natural and the induction was unexpected) but having our boy here is a dream 🫶🏻

I was induced and had pitocin, those contractions hurt worse then when I naturally went into labor with my first born. Either way, contractions are the worst part for me but both times I made it to 7cm before getting an epidural.

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?

Movements

I’m 28 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I had loads and loads of movements but today I have only felt small flutters and a couple of kicks throughout the day. I get so confused as some people say they don’t have a pattern but others say they do. We have a Doppler so used it this evening and could hear the heartbeat and then moving but does anyone else get quieter days of movement than others? I am seeing my midwife tomorrow so will check but just find myself getting anxious about it and don’t know when to get checked. I know they encourage it but last time as soon as I got to triage baby started moving loads!
