Bottles

Hello, my 11.5 month old is currently on 4 bottles a day but hasn’t cared for them in weeks. I offer 6oz at each feed and he probably drinks about 4oz. I’m wondering wether to cut one of the bottles…

Currently it’s wake up bottle, 11am, 3pm and bedtime.

Which should I get rid of? How many bottles is your baby having?

Thanks!

Do you automatically feed him a bottle at those times or does he give you cues that he's hungry at those times? If it's the former maybe wait for his cues between the 11 and 3 bottle to see if it's best merging those together and having 1 bottle inbetween those times.

My LG is almost 11 months and I basically just go off of cues and times. IE I think we're in a regression so she's waking up of a night to have a bottle. If it's around 5am then I don't make another at wake up 6/7am. I wait for her to tell me she's hungry or we move straight to breakfast at 8am.

When we saw the health visitor a couple of weeks ago she said it was fine for babies to have around 15oz in a 24h period. Currently my LG has 3/4 in the day and one at night. We offer 6 oz and I think she drinks 4-5 so I think I'm going to lower the bottles to 5oz and see what happens.

My baby’s having the exact same amount a day too at the same times. We have started to drop a bottle around 11am if she has a decent enough meal and sometimes give her a snack. She’s also been randomly waking up at night for a bottle too. I’m just honestly going by her cues and whenever she’s hungry

Just to answer a few questions, wake up varies usually between 6-7am, he doesn’t wake at all in the night, lunch is at 12 and dinner is at 5pm and he’s asleep for 7

I’ve just recently cut my daughter from 3 bottles to 2. She used to have 3oz, then 6oz, then 5oz. So I cut the 3oz morning one. I do give her 2 snacks a day with lunch and dinner though. She has the same wake and bedtime as your baby and doesn’t wake in the night.

I'd drop the 11am one if he's having lunch at 12. We recently did this with my little boy, he has a bottle when he wakes up (between 6-7am), breakfast 9am, lunch 12, bottle 3pm, tea between 5-6pm and bottle before bed (He's a late sleeper so usually around 9pm).

He drinks more of his milk now on 3 bottles than he did on 4

My LB was feeding at 8, 12, 4 and 8. I dropped 12 o’clock one as he was having lunch shortly after and then bought 4 o’clock one forward to 3 x

I give a bottle before each sleep essentially. Morning nap, about 10 depending on what we're doing. 3-4 o'clock and then a big one before bed.

My baby is about the same age and she drinks one in the morning and one at night but I’m thinking of dropping the morning one xx

My LG is in 2-3 a day and these are 8oz bottles. She doesn’t always drink them all but she will have one in the morning and one at night for definite (unless her dinner has been late and she won’t drink the bottle then) and the one in the middle of the day varies depending on what we’re doing

But I’m not looking into the whole cows milk transition and it’s a minefield !

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
