I have a nearly 9 year old and a nearly 3 year old girls. They talk loudly, laugh loudly, and play loud, sometimes aggressively. I have recently started shutting down loud play and directing it to their bedroom or outside. I have a small house, the living room is our main living space as a family. We use the kitchen to cook and eat. It's not big enough to be a living space/play space. When we are in the living room, it can get a bit too much to listen to when the kids are shouting, playing loud, moaning, etc. I suggest a quiet game, and sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't, when I suggest taking the play outside or to their room, the older one acts as if I'm being mean and sometimes refuses. So yoinger one copies the older one. Is anyone in the same boat, and what do you do?

We are a very loud family me 8,6and 2 year old. I think some children just are. Infact my whole family are loud. I find my 2 year old definately copies her brother's if they sulk or strop and it's so hard to keep my cool especially if they're screaming in the kitchen. I get sensory overload and worried I'll hurt someone ( turning round with something hot and they're under my feet) because I can't focus. X
I feel like you do, kerrianne!

It's nice to know I'm not alone, just sorry I can't offer any practical advice x

Im in the same boat but with a 7 and 2 year old 🙈 when they are both by themselves they are quiet tho my 7 year old is very loud when she is playing even in her own room so definitely don't have any advice either 🙈🙉
