Had my 2wk4day old at the Dr's yesterday because she'd been showing signs of either colic or reflux. Mentioned everything to Dr who sided with possibly colic and mentioned trying infacol. So since yesterday been giving her infacol every feed etc.
Today she's been even more unsettled, more sicky and crying in what seems like pain.
All her symptoms I think point to reflux rather than colic. So ladies what's the best course of action? I know actually reflux milk however I know this makes them constipated so kinda don't want to use that. I should mentioned she's bottle fed and having aptamil with alternate breastmilk.
Any advice is very welcome x

Colic = undiagnosed reason for prolonged crying. This is a drs way of saying 'i dont know but i know you want to hear a reason'.
Wht are her symptoms?
Is it different whether she has had breastmilk or formula?

Hiccups, she will cough often when having her milk or after, she upchucks as I can hear it and she often will swallow it, sometimes it comes out and looks bitty..
She cries in pain, and arches her back and goes rigid. Has hiccups alot. Doesn't matter if breastmilk or formula either. An allergy to cows milk was ruled out.

I also think she's been worse today since using the infacol since yesterday

Why was CMPA ruled out?
Have you had tongue tie looked at by a specialist (not a gp or midwife, they are trained)

I would stop the infacol.
Are you doing paced feeding when its bottle feeds?
Are you feeding on demand?

She was checked at birth fir tongue tie, due to symptoms he ruled out cows milk allergy

Unless she was seen by a tongue tie specialist, I wouldnt take their word for it. She may not have a severe tongie tie, but could still have one that is affecting her.
The constant crying, arching back and hiccuping are symptoms i had with a baby i nannied who had CMPA. We were told he didnt hve it, then the following week the GP agreed he did have it. Ibwould get a wnd opinion if it were me

Defo get a second opinion on CMPA because my friends daughter had it and was like it for over 6 months. She then cut out dairy and it was like she had a new child! Dr didn't think she had it but my friend cut all dairy to try it and it worked. Equally go back as infacol doesn't help reflux, it aggrivates it so you could need baby gaviscon or omeprazole

My LO couldn’t cope on infacol, turned out she had cmpa which was causing it all and only thing that helped was putting her on dairy free milk
The symptoms do sound like it could be an allergy! (I have 2 cmpa babies with similar symptoms, ones now 19 months old) x

Also should have said its only this last few days she's been this way x

It sounds like a tongue tie. Even if it's not severe it can affect your little one. My sons tongue tie was missed at the hospital so I'd definitely recommend getting get reassessed
