Is post natal insomnia a thing?

My baby is laying next to me snoozing away peacefully but for the life of me I can't switch off 😭
It's been like this since she was maybe 2 months or so (after the main but of recovery was over).
Anyone else?

Yes I am in the same boat. I can’t switch off my mind. Latest I sleep is around 1am then wake up by 4am to feed again then can’t sleep it will take me another 1 or 1 and half to go back to sleep 🥲

I'm the same I can't sleep earlier than 1am then baby is waking up around 1:45/2:10 and from 3:30 or 4:15 baby is awake until 5/5:30 and at 6:30 I have to be awake to send my other daughter to school I feel so tired 😩😴😩😴

I had this issue for a couple of months but now I sleep normally. What helped was listening to The Sleep Coach School on YT. I was too stressed that I have to sleep when baby sleeps so as a result I wasn't sleeping much, or at all. Focusing less on sleep paradoxically made me sleep well, but it took a while.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
