Rib pain

Does anyone else feel like they can’t wear bras anymore!? I have the WORST rib pain on my right side. I’m having twins and that baby is breach on that side so I wonder if that’s why my ribs hurt so bad.

I literally feel like they’re being shattered all the time. I’m so uncomfortable. I can’t wear regular bras anymore, any bra recommendations??

My PT said to be sure to practice breathing to help with that pain

You tried any gentle yoga stretches that can help release some of the tight spots around the ribs & upper back? Been helping me a lot when tension gets overwhelming. Downward dog yoga app has a prenatal option that helps a lot

I have the same pain on my left side. When bringing that up to my OB he just told me baby has her head there that’s why I have pain. So I can’t really do much 😫

Heat and cold therapy. And rest.

Are you wearing an underwire because that made me quit bras for the summer. Currently looking for larger size sports bras or looking in some maternity bras but I don't know how big the girls are going to get

I switched the nursing type sports bras as soon as I started to get uncomfortable in mine 😅 I got some affordable ones on Amazon that come in a pack, not the most flattering so I wear a normal bra depending on what I’m wearing but I also got the momcozy in the same style and really liked it cause no underwire. I did get them with a little room (hopefully enough) for when my milk comes in after baby gets here.

My bra comes off as soon as the work day is done. And I haven't even been wearing underwire.

Avatar

I haven’t but I’ll definitely download that app and give it a try! I’ll literally try ANYTHING it’s so brutal!

Avatar

UGH my baby has his head there too, I figured that was why this side hurts but the other side doesn’t. I wish he would go head down like his brother!

Avatar

I’ve been curious about the momcozy ones! I’ve heard good things, would you recommend them? The other ones Ive looked at are kindred bravely but they’re kinda pricey and I don’t know what size I’ll need once the babies come lol

I'm 28 weeks but fundal height measuring around 32 weeks. Baby is in 90th percentile. My doctor said the rib pain is normal, but I feel the same way... it's HORRIBLE. I would invest in comfy nursing bras with no wires.

Avatar

I never wear bras with underwires while pregnant. But even tight sports bras hurt. I wear a loose thin bralette type of bra.

Avatar

I mostly avoid bras but I bought the bodily one and I’m obsessed. It’s like silk. It’s so comfy. The rib pain is the worst.

Avatar

ooooh good to know this is actually a brand I haven’t heard of yet!! I was desperate and got some crappy nursing bras from Walmart this weekend. They are NOT flattering, my girls look very sad in them LOL I’ll def be ordering something else! Do the Bodily ones give you some support without being uncomfortable?

Avatar

These are the ones I’m obsessed with! They’re not suuuper supportive. I’m not a fan of bras. But they’re so comfy and at least I’m wearing something. My man prefers it to me going everywhere braless 😂

Avatar

thank you so much, I’ll definitely give these a try! If I could go everywhere braless, I 100% would 😅 I hate bras too!

Avatar

Ugh yes I have rib/chest pain even without a bra on because my baby is big and breech. It’s so uncomfortable! I will try some of the yoga things people suggested

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
