Can the NIPT results for gender be wrong? Maybe I feel like I’m doubting it because I got the gender I wanted sooo badly and it just seems surreal that we are having what we want and I did my test around 14 weeks and I know medically it’s accurate but I’m like is it wrong? The ultrasounds also seems to correspond with the gender but the dr on the report didn’t identify the gender because the scans were incomplete and now I have to wait to do follow up genitalia scans to get dr confirmation but im just like is the NIPT right 😭😭😭

Usually the NIPT is 99.9% accurate.
I was originally pregnant with triplets and 2 of them stopped developing by 9 weeks. So I waited did the NIPT around 14/15 weeks and my test was accurate.
They told me they would confirm at my next US because there was a chance the DNA from the other 2 babies could have affected the results.
At my 18 week US they confirmed the NIPT result was correct and reconfirmed at my 22 week. :)
Hope that helps 💙
Thank you!!! When I did the ultrasounds the tech asked if we wanted her to write the gender we said no at first because we were waiting but then decided to look at it was just the scan but it looks like a girl scan which is what the NIPT said. Going in next week to do the follow up scans to get dr confirmation
Maybe I’m just still processing that I’m having a girl lol cause everyone has said it’s a boy (only my husband and I know the gender)

Congratulations! My hubby and I thought we were having a girl and the NIPT said boy! And the US definitely confirmed it.
Good luck next week! Let me know how it goes :)
Thank you!! Will do! 🫶🏽

Accurate. Mine said boy and just did my anatomy scan - def a boy in there for me!

Accurate for me

@Erin same happened to me!

It would be highly unlikely not too be accurate
