Reduced growth

My baby is also on the 10th centile with estimated weight of 3pound 6 at my 32week scan. She was measuring perfect up until my 32week scan. I had another scan yesterday but they just checked the cord blood flow etc and the sonographer didnt seem to concerned. Back in on Tuesday to see how shes measuring now. It's hard not to worry but remember it's just estimates x

im in the same boat went in today for a growth scan at 32 weeks and he is measuring small below the 10th percentile think hes on the 8th he weighs around the same as ur baby and they have said to me he might have to.come early if we are still.in this situation at a later date have they said to you baby may have to ge born early

aw sounds fairly similar. It really is hard, especially with her being my rainbow. My mind goes straight to worry x

they didn’t say. I did ask what might happen if she continues to drop in weight and they said they’ll just have to do what’s best for her, hinted at her having to come early but didn’t say it. X

ih ok i spoke to the doctor after and he was really good at explaining he said if he drops then he will come at 37 if he carrys on the same pace then it will be 38 39 if he has a growth spurt i will continue to get monitored and we will do scans every two weeks but i should be able to continue till hes ready to come out

oh that’s really good to know thank you - has your boy dropped percentiles then or has he always been below 10 in your scans?

they say he has dropped but hopefully will now just stay where he is and will be born at 38 weeks if he drops again will be 37

My first 2 were classed as small, my 1st born at 40w1d weighed 6lb 12oz classed as 10th percentile and my 2nd born at 39wk6d weighed 6lb3.5oz classed as 4th percentile. My point being they weren't exceptionally small so try not to worry. I have been automatically booked for growth scans this time due to my 2nd being under the 10th 🤞hopefully this one is bigger due to the recommendation to take aspirin

i take it your babies were not having to be born early then as with mine they said he may have to be

My first was same and eventually dropped to the 1st centile they induced me at 39 weeks as up to then my placenta still looked good and blood flow was good, at 39 weeks they said my placenta was starting to look like it was too old so I was induced she was born at 5lb 5oz. This time I’m having extra growth scans.

Sometimes, when there not gaining they may suggest that baby is better out than in so there a possibility you may have her early.

I’m the complete opposite snd my baby is growing above the 95% percentile(I have GD) and they suggested I might have her at 36 weeks due to been on insulin & metformin

Femur length is usually one that drops smaller as babies are clever - if they’re struggling to grow they direct the blood to where they need it most aka head and heart! I’ll be having my baby early due to placenta issues - doctors are keeping a close eye. Main thing is they won’t deliver unless baby is safer out than in!

My little boy is under the 3rd centile for weight, so we are having extra scans to keep an eye on him. I have low PAPP-A, so my placenta isn't quite doing what it should and hasn't been for a while, so because of this we have been told if he is still under the 3rd centile, I may have to be induced at 37 weeks. However, everything else with baby is fine, fluids and bloods etc all showing up great so we are trying not to worry too much! Hope you're okay xx

@katie no but I did have growth scans with my second because my bump was small. My eldest are now 17 & 13, I can certainly say things have changed alot since then. There was no recommendation to take aspirin, vitamin D or so much information about counting kicks back then.
