Autism? Or fluid in ears? Sorry for long post!

My LB had passed his hearing checks when he was a baby. His 21months old and still doesn't respond to his name unless I shout his name loud. He also doesn't give me eye contact when am speaking to him only when he wants to he will. He is constantly blabbing away in baby language non-stop which is good shows his vocal. My main concern is interaction and eye contact especially when we talk to him. I don't know if this is slow development or sign of autism. However if i put his favourite TV programem on if his in a different room and heres the intro song for Vlad and Nikki (show) he will respond to it and run to watch it. Ive notice he responds straight away to bis TV programmes but ignores ans doesn't give eye contact when we speak to him. But when I say "no" to him he responds to me because he knows his doing something wrong and I don't like it. Moreover his the only child and I put him in front of the TV 24/7 while I work from home. And when I finish work I cook, tidy up and then just chill on my phone don't play with him with hos toys am guilty off. But I take him to his grandparents every 3x a week so he can play and interact with them there's more people at my mums so he always has someone talking to him and playing with him. Also another thing I have noticed is when i try hand feed him he will push it away and would rather play with his food. He also gets angry when his building blocks and if it falls he will throw his blocks/toys out of anger and lay flat on the floor start crying. I'm just worried and concerned if it's autism or toddler or if he has any fluids in his ears that's causing not to give eye contact when I talk to him normally unless I shout or could it be terrible two tantrums? I spoke to HV they said they normally do development screening at 2.5yrs. In the meantime is there anything I can do to help my LO be more interactive and give eye contact?

Some of the things you have mentioned sound like toddler e.g getting frustrated/ throwing toys or himself on the floor when the blocks fall down. With the eye contact thing do your grandparents observe the same thing when he goes over there to play?

Literally sounds like my child.... I spoke with the HV before he was 1 and they didn't seem interested in my concerns .. they also never gave him his 1 year review despite me pushing for it . Now for a little reassurance I've decided to consult a paediatric myself to see if they can advise anything if possible .. so I feel I'm in the exact same boat as yourself, feel free to message me if you like

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
