So bit of a rant. So I'm absolutely skint. I get universal credit to help, and I work. I put in more hours to try and give myself some actual spending money to treat my little one and half of my overtime has been taken in UC?? Which counteracts the point in working over time?? I'm starting to give up. Should I just be doing the minimum hours required? All those extra hours for basically nothing 😭

Universal credit allow you to earn only so much and then deduct pound for pound what you earn over that. So if you want to earn spending money you'd likely have to come off it and return to work full time and then you can do overtime and earn what you wanted xx
Yeah bit if I came off it and went full time all my earnings would go to the nursery, let alone rent and bills 🥲 just can't win xx

I'd say you'll just have to work what they allow in that case
how many hours do you work? I do 16hrs, and even then they take off 250! Feel like my work will be a little upset if I ask to just do 5hours pw 😅
