My baby will be 3 months on Tuesday and fights his naps sometimes and if he does nap it’s no longer than 20 minutes. He has like 4-5 nap throughout the day but very short and quick. Today he was awake for 3 hours and did not want to nap at all. He was fed, changed .. everything you can thing of. He just wanted to stay awake and when I put him on his play mat or swing he cries. He doesn’t like to be in it longer than 10minutes. What do I do with him while he’s up?? I can’t entertain him for 3
hours long and have him on my
lap as i have things to do. I know his wake window will be longer as he gets older.

We used to believe the same with our baby, I.e. that she doesn't want to sleep, and we were trying to find ways to entertain her. We realised later though that she was tired, she just could self settle. We had to rock her, sign, give a dummy etc to sleep. Also, she sleeps better on us. The moment we put her on her bed during the day, she wakes up. Last thing, the more tired they get, the more difficult to put them to sleep. So it's better to look for cues like yawn and try at that time to settle them.
