We’ve just started putting our LB back in the next to me after he refused to go in it and slept in the Moses basket. However, whenever he sleeps in the next to me, every time we wake up he has somehow manoeuvred himself so his face is completely smushed up against the side of the cot closest me but he’s still on his back.
He did this before and we thought it was because he was so small but he is quite a chunk now and it has been happening again.
He is swaddled and placed foot to feet in the middle of the cot. We’ve even tried putting him further to the other side but he still manages to make his way across. We’ve checked that it’s not tilted but the cot is attached to the bed and pretty solid, we’ve even turned the rocking part off so that it doesn’t move.
Does anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions? I am so worried about him suffocating himself but he’s almost too big for his Moses basket now (we never had this issue in that!) so we have to put him to sleep in his next to me.

There was a similar post about a week ago, seems it's very common. My little girl does this every time. Exactly the same as you, I've tried putting her further over, but she gravitated towards me every time. I'm guessing they're just seeking out their milk x

My little boy does this, I think he feels more secure there as the cot is so big for him still at 5 weeks old. I just put him there anyway so he feels safe. The sides of mine are mesh so breathable anyway for these reasons x

Yep mine does it and has done from day 1! He’s 8 weeks and up until last week he moved to left, for some reason he now always end up on the right🤷🏽♀️

My little girl does it too, put her in the middle every time and she wakes up either to the side or right down the bottom so her feet are touching the side x

My girl does this too sometimes, but the sides of her next to me are rather rigid so no big worry about suffocating I would think. She breathes fine when it happens despite having her forehead against the side of her bed. I always put her back in the middle of her mattress when she wakes up for her feed though ☺️

My little boy does this, but only in his bassinet! We’ve started to put him in his cot (in our room but at the other end) for some of his daytime naps and the first leg of the night, and he stays exactly where we put him. But when he goes in the bassinet later on, I always wake up to find him smushed against the side closest to me, no matter where I put him 🤷🏼♀️
