My almost 9 month old and I have been co sleeping since birth and now I feel like it's time for her to start sleeping on her own but it's been hard. When I try to put her down at night she doesn't sleep which means I don't sleep! Any advice??

Start with your day time naps. It's an unfamiliar environment so it's always a bit rough at first. We coslept from the beginning too. Now she takes her daytime naps in the crib and she gets laid down in the crib for bedtime but ends up back in bed after about 2-3 hours at night due to still nursing through the night. Starting with daytime naps was easiest and I honestly think if she slept through the night, the crib would be fine for all sleeps.

We use a crib comforter set that has an elastic bottom, and she falls asleep with a stuffed animal! My 8month old is my second kid to use it at this age, and neither of them have been able to pull the blanket over their head. I take the toy at night when she’s asleep and place it under my pillow.

My 8month old son was in a similar situation. I’ve now started to put him in the crib for nap times. And for the first sleep of the night. Then he wakes up around midnight for a feed and ends up in our bed. But it’s a work in progress. He didn’t want the crib at first even for naps. So don’t get discouraged. Just keep trying. Hoping one day my baby will stay in his crib all night 🙏 honestly on the hard nights he just ends up in bed with me from the start. We mamas need to sleep too 🤷🏽♀️
