Mum guilt - are your toddlers still using bottles for milk

My little one has 2x 50z oat milk bottles - due to lactose. Just wondering, is anyone still on bottles and not cups and when is everyone planning to start weaning them if so?
Everywhere I read it says don’t let them use bottles after 18 months. My LO is now 19 months and I’m not sure how I’d wean him as he relies on his bottles for comfort as part of his nap and bedtime routine

i was told not to past 12 months and that’s when i stopped he still has his milk in a cup, but honestly he still has a dummy to sleep at 19 months so i wouldn’t worry about it too much. we didn’t wean either we just did a straight swap to his water cup to make it a bit easier. don’t beat urself up about it tho

Thank you! He doesn’t have a dummy. He was in hospital so we couldn’t give it him so we got rid of it when he was 9 months
So bottle is his only comfort and his blanky. Also I tried a cup and it just went everywhere haha! Even in a straw cup xx

My little boy won't take his milk out of a cup. I've tried but he just gets upset so bedtime bottle is staying 🤷

Can I ask a question about the lactose. My LO has been fine with milk but for the last 4 weeks he’s been getting runny or sticky poos. Pop sample done and not caused by an illness. Doc just said it’ll get better on its own. When I’ve reduced his milk, the poos seem to be more normal. Can they develop a lactose intolerance at 18 months? Going to post as a superset post too! Xx

My daughter still has a bedtime bottle. She will not drink milk out of anything else. Im not overly worried at the moment as it is 1 bottle and she uses a dummy for sleep so think the dummy is probably worse for teeth lol

We have milk out of a bottle morning and night - also oat milk! He also has a dummy so double whammy haha x

I haven't even really tried a cup, still has 2 bottles, 250ml per day.

Still using bottles here for milk. He has two 240mls a day, one for nap and one for bed. Will try a cup at some point, but I'm not in a rush 😊

I still use bottles for milk. He won’t drink it out of anything else. It’s not worth the fight 😂. X

Milk out a bottle first thing in the morning and bedtime and still uses a dummy for bed. She refuses to drink milk out a cup and using a cup with straw for water/juice

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
