Tongue tie baby but I want to breastfeed!

You can definitely build your supply back up. I’d recommend using a pump, and if you’re exclusively feeding him breast milk, I’d breastfeed him and then top him up with your expressed. It’s supply and demand so if he’s not drawing enough milk in, you won’t produce as much. At this age, he’s not an expert yet but honestly breastfeeding takes time. The first week for me was so painful, then he stopped being so eager and his latch became better and now I’m 3 weeks on and it’s not painful at all. I’m currently pumping around 4.5oz in 15-20 minutes when I do pump, sometimes more sometimes less.

Pumping a few times a day. Eating oats, putting him on the breast often and eating/drinking enough are all essential to upping your supply x

Just wanted to give you a glimmer of hope for after tomorrow. Both of my did was tongue tied. My son had his cut Sunday 8am. Instantly feeding pain went away... (minus cracked/blistered nipples). Then by monday morning my nipples was repaired and painless. My milk came in so strong i got a let down of 3oz on the breast i wasnt feeding on!!!
The milk is there. They just need that little help.
Midwives told me to breastfeed until it was cut and to top up feed after if needed until post op x

My first son had a tongue tie and breastfeeding was so hard at the start for us but after he had it fixed and with time & patience we ended up getting a great latch & breastfed until he was 15 months old, it was worth the hard work!!
Don’t turn to formula too early as this will affect your supply & baby may get a bottle preference. you will produce enough if you just keep feeding on demand & follow other tips in these comments! 🙌🏼🤞🏼
