Sleep issues

My son is almost 8 months old. He's still not sleeping through the night and he's taking maybe 30 minutes 45 minute naps. I'm lucky if I get him to take a 2-hour nap. Hell I'm lucky if I even get one nap a day. At night he'll wake up crying and squirming around and I've tried to take out night feedings but that didn't work out too well. I'm also 10 weeks pregnant and I feel like I'm losing my mind because I'm so tired and exhausted.

What do he before sleeping

Avatar

We do bath time, last feeding and when he shows signs of being sleepy he goes to his crib to fall asleep on his own. Around 8pm. Then he wakes up around 11 drinks 4oz then up at 2/3am then wide awake playing at 5/6am

I know sleep regressions are pretty common around this age when i’ve spoke with other moms. My son is coming in on 8 months in a week and he is starting to wake up around 4-5am wide awake and wanting to play. Sometimes he’s squirmy starting @1am before waking up around 4 and then not going back to sleep until 6am. From birth he actually slept well through the night barely waking up but a few times to feed, so this is new for him and just started within the last 2 weeks.

Everyone’s baby is different so if there is anything to be concerned about you should just simply talk to your child’s health provider :)

Mine is the same right now😭
I’ve been searching far and wide for some advice and all i’m seeing is it depends on if they are getting too much or too little daytime sleep
so i’m going to try a new routine tomorrow to see if it helps😭

My girl is doing the same thing right now and it's driving me crazy. She will only stay asleep and nap if we contact nap all of a sudden.

My baby was the exact same way up until last week. Only thing I’ve done different is consistently offer more solids each day. So 3x, dinner is around 5/5:30pm. He gets 6oz bottle around 7:30pm then I put him to sleep. I think he’s more full so he doesn’t wake up for middle of the night feedings. It might have nothing to do with feedings though. Is he teething?

Same here, my mom said to feed the baby at night. I think I might try that. She told me to give her apple sauce or something similar with baby oat meal (I don’t have any so I might just use some baby rice)

Well my son’s doctor said that baby’s who are getting older get different sleeping schedule kinda like baby puberty so when my son was about 4 -5 months is sleeping schedule and feeding times were all over the place and it started to settle down as he hit 6 months his doctor also said that he can go without eating at night for 8 hours if he wanted too naps for him depends if he’s really tired maybe 2 hours but usually it’s like 30 minutes I think it’s pretty normal maybe ask the pediatrician maybe he or she has to say about it

Same issues here...I have twins and thankfully I only have the issue with 1 of them.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
