Is anyone else dealing with their baby staying awake for 3+hours straight and becoming fussy because they’re tired? My 1 month old keeps himself up for extended periods and fusses anytime he’s not on the boob. Has anyone else been through this and fixed it? He’s getting so overtired and I don’t know how to help him to sleep.

Yes. I go through this. If I don’t put her in the swing sometimes she just won’t sleep.

Do you bounce him? Or have a swing?

Yes I pat little on bottom while holding and bounding until she goes to sleep or my husband holds her on his chest like tummy time to help

I’m experiencing this currently. He usually falls asleep after I nurse him or bottle feed him breast milk since I’m exclusively breast feeding but not today

Yes contact naps have been the only way to keep her asleep . It makes it hard to eat and self care

Husband is currently holding him skin to skin on his chest and he is knocked out. This has also worked in the past

I've read that it's normal for the first months for them to need reassurance to sleep . My baby does it for a few days and then stop for a day or so

I use a light bouncer with a pacifier and when that fails I do a tight wrap carrier and just walk around.

I went through this , I had assumed that when my son is tired I would know and will put him to sleep but somehow I missed it and he would go hours and then become extremely fussy . Somehow I had missed his Que he had given when he was initially tired which was disinterested in playing or yawning . So what I do now is when he gives me the first sign, I start to prepare him for his nap . Even if he naps for 30 or 40 mins at a time . It is okay.
