I had my baby in June and was in labour for 60 hours and had to stay in two days afterwards and he was allowed to stay the entire time 😌 tell him to pack loads of snacks etc because they don’t feed the fathers and the canteen is staff only apart from an odd hour or two xxx
Yep I was in for a week and my wife stayed the entire time bless her x
The chairs are very uncomfortable and the pillows are wafer thin so take pillows and blankets!
Oh. I had an emergency c section and was in for 1 week. Mine was only allowed to be there between 9am and 7pm. It was awful.
I’ve just been in there for a week and my partner stayed 3 nights, whilst I was being induced. As mentioned above though it is sleeping in a very uncomfortable chair which is awful for them sleep wise!
Yes x
I had my baby in the Birth Place in Medway Hospital, was in overnight and my partner was with me the whole time. The Birth Place is amazing if you can use it
@Kirsty I was in for a week with an emergency c section and my wife stayed by my side the entire time 🫣
@Clarice that's mad! We were told no visitors at all after 7pm and they kicked him out every day 🙄
@Kirsty no way!! She literally didn’t go home and slept on a chair for a week.
@Kirsty that's crazy my husband was told he could stay. The other ladies on my ward, their partners stayed as long as they were in there
Oh wow! Well, I had a horrific experience there unfortunately so this has rubbed salt in the wound.
They’ve only recently changed the rules in March I believe @Kirsty so that may be why he couldn’t stay
@Kirsty I'm sorry to hear that xx

My partner stayed with me majority of the time however both him and my mum were my birth partners so took it in turns to babysit me while I was in labour for five days. Both were allowed with me in the delivery suite, my mum stayed with me after birth so my partner could go home and get some rest and respite from his dad as he was very emotional and a bit of a nervous wreck afterwards as it was quite a traumatic ordeal leading up to birth, but someone is allowed to stay with you regardless. If they try sending either home (which I had a midwife do on many occasions and both my mum and partner declined😂) tell them no x
Mine was allowed to stay. Even after the birth when I was taken to the ward, he stayed on the chair. I went in about 6pm and got discharged 22hrs later
