I really thought I had escaped this one… but I’ve just hit 25 weeks and had awful acid reflux the last 24 hours.
Any helpful dos and don’ts to help?

I just chomp on rennies 😅😭 it’s dreadful isn’t it. you can ring your GP and get something for it lovely x

I’ve been struggling since week 10, tried rennies and gaviscon and neither worked. My consultant prescribed me omeprizole and it’s been a life saver, I’ve forgotten it the last few days and been acid sick a few times, only available on prescription though so may be worth trying other over the counter meds to see if they work first, if you haven’t already x

Thanks girls. I’ll go get some rennies/gaviscon tomorrow and give it a go 😵💫

Hi Adele, I’ve experienced some but not too bad. I’ve cut out some things which made it feel worse like fruit juice and yogurts and that has helped a bit

I did have fruit juice, yoghurt and chocolate yesterday, which I have now read are not ideal for acid reflux lol. Typical!

im so stuck with this and my god is it a struggle!
i have to take iron tablets daily with a form of vitamin c (apple juice)
i’m also currently on aspirin due to low papp-a and i apparently can’t take anything like rennies or gaviscon with it so im just struggling on by!
but i read yoghurt helps.. so i went and bought a tonne of them… but now you’ve just said yoghurts don’t help! (i mean they haven’t been for me.. but now im enjoying yoghurts)😂

Oh… I’m on aspirin for low pap-a also! I didn’t realise we not able to take rennies or gaviscon 😲

Oh sorry! I've had this too since about 20 weeks!!
It's miserable at night time isn't it.
I agree, chocolate makes it worse (sadly) and also rich spicy, greasy foods.. So I've gone super beige food. That helps. Also not over eating helps, and not eating too late. Sip water. Greek yoghurt, bananas and cinnamon really help, which happen to be a nice combo. Hope that helps you 😊 I also went to the pharmacy and they recommended a great own brand antacid liquid (cheaper version of gaviscon) - I've been sipping a bit of this before bed and sometimes through the night on the many awakenings haha, and that seems to have really helped neutralising my stomach even through the day. Which has been a huge relief. I'm sure when we get bigger it will get worse ahh 😳 haha
