Unwanted gifts?

Am I wrong to critique the clothes I get for my babygirl? Like not to the gift givers face. But someone gave us two outfits, blanket, and a towel set . All of it looks like from the olden days obviously not actually. But I’m really thinking of bringing it to once upon a child and donating it🤣

not at all! once someone gifts you something they no longer have the ability to lay claim to it. it’s completely up to you to keep or dispose of it.

If u are not going to use donate or sell someone is going to do a good use

for this i would simply say thank you but please only give girl clothes

i’m sorry 😞

I donated stuff I got clothes wise from certain ppl just bc I don’t want my child wearing that lol it’s either ugly or just a no from me 😂

I wouldn’t criticize the clothes you receive as a gift. But you can donate them or save them and regift them to someone else

I grew up with super old hand-me-downs so I refuse anything that doesn't fit how I want my daughter to dress. Fyi she dresses nicer than me. Now when she can express what she wants to wear then she can choose but for now I want her to have better than I did.

Avatar

This is why I don't want to accept clothes. I'm a very neutrals type of mama and want to keep it that way.

You could always donate it but we found extras helpful, even if they're not what we would have chosen. We received so much clothes for baby that we don't need to buy her anything until she's a year old. I don't love every outfit but it's amazing that so many people thought of her and I'm happy to have her wear everything at least once and send them a picture of her in it to enjoy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We’ve been given second hand bundles and some have not been to my taste however it’s great to have as spares. I’m the type that would rather have too many. Or some of the clothes have been lovely but impractical as they are dresses and not easy to take on and off. I’d just donate once the child grew out of that size.

It should be remembered that gift giving makes the giver feel good, and ultimately it really is the thought that matters. I feel privileged to receive so much. Not everyone is that lucky. Also lovely to donate, nothing fits for very long. 🙂

I think I’m going to do the same with some things, we have so much stuff it’s going to be impossible to use it all anyway, and you can tell who bought gifts that are thoughtful against those who just went and bought random things for the sake of saying they bought something.. I know it sounds awful but someone brought some things to the baby shower which are just really bad quality and I wouldn’t be happy to use them as they feel awful and rough to me, never mind on baby’s skin!

Avatar

I'd take a photo of baby in the clothes and send them to the person. Especially if they're a close or older relative. Then if I really didn't like them I'd donate them.

Avatar

Just take a photo of your child in it. Send it to the person who gave the gift. And then put it to the back of the drawer and don't think of it again

As someone who can’t afford to get whatever they want I think it’s pretty crappy but I’d also say to donate it somewhere another parent could get it for free. I think it’s terrible to give it to someone to sell to another parent regardless if it’s sold for $10 or $0.50.

I appreciate everyone’s opinion. I never said I didn’t appreciate the gifts I get. But I’ve gone through my whole pregnancy buying hand me downs for my daughter that are cute. I barley got any gifts while pregnant. I’d rather gift these to a mother in need . I legit live in one room and can’t store our stuff anywhere else. So 3 people in a tiny room is kinda hard. My babygirls stuff takes up 70% of our room now . On top of that I have family members gifting us TODDLER sized clothes , now what am I supposed to do with those?🤣 but what I’m trying to get at is nobody asks me what I need they just get it and assume🙃 so yes I’m going to donate most things I get because I just basically don’t need them and someone else might

Nahh someone else will put it to use lol

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?

Movements

I’m 28 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I had loads and loads of movements but today I have only felt small flutters and a couple of kicks throughout the day. I get so confused as some people say they don’t have a pattern but others say they do. We have a Doppler so used it this evening and could hear the heartbeat and then moving but does anyone else get quieter days of movement than others? I am seeing my midwife tomorrow so will check but just find myself getting anxious about it and don’t know when to get checked. I know they encourage it but last time as soon as I got to triage baby started moving loads!
