My son never seems to be hungry, it’s a fight every single meal time and it’s starting to get me down. I ask him what he wants (I give him a choice), I then dish ip what he has asked for and he either tells me to put it in the bin straight away or just doesn’t eat a single bit.
Yesterday all he had was a sausage roll & a packet of wotsits the full day. He drinks plenty of water and also had a cup of tea in the morning & evening. This only started about a week ago & seems to be eating fine in nursery (3 days a week). They tell me that he’s eating everything so I’m not sure what’s going on 😭 any advice? Thank you.

My son is often the same. Refuses to even try stuff 🙈 I'm hoping it's just a phase and he will grow out of it. I try to stick to things I know he likes and then every so often try him with something new as it was soul destroying cooking him something for him not to even try it. Don't even get me started on veg 🙈
thanks for your reply, it’s comforting to know I’m not along & hopefully it is just a phase then 🤞. Omg it is soul destroying 😭😭.

My daughter said a very polite "No" to everything for breakfast. She finally settled in sharing Daddy's granola with blueberries. Then whilst eating that had a slice of apple and a fruity flapjack from a Joe Wicks weaning book.xx

Oh my lg is similar. She eats everything at the nursery and at home she eats less than half of her meals. Sometimes refuses dinner completely, no matter what we offer her.

You're not alone at all same here I think at nursery because everyone else is eating it that's why they're eating the same

Good refusal can be so tough. My son eats everything at nursery but has gotten quite picky at home 🙈 the best tips I’ve read are from srnutrition on instagram- offer them familiar foods with a new food alongside, reduce any stress with mealtimes, make sure you’re eating at the table with them, and remember our responsibility is to serve up the food (with some choices in what we serve) and it’s up to them to decide what they eat and how much of it. Her and Rebecca Wilson also have some good recipes for getting some extra nutrition in easy meals like carrot cake porridge or veg based flapjacks. They can mostly be bulk made and then frozen so you can keep offering and you haven’t cooked from scratch each time / it feels less disheartening if they refuse it x
