When to pack hospital bag

I’m currently 34 weeks and don’t know whether it’s too early to have my hospital bag packed. I have started it but it’s not finished. I also don’t know if it’s too early to have the nappy caddies etc finished too? When are you all doing these things by? I would love to have them all done but don’t want to be too eager with it if that makes sense.

Mine are all done as of yesterday, I’m 33+2. I’m anxious about needing to go in earlier and not having it ready, it’s just in the boot of my car now for safe keeping and ease x

It’s never too early, my mum told me to make sure they’re all packed and be as prepared as possible. She hadn’t packed hers as she’s very last minute and my brother came at 35 weeks😣x

Mine was packed at 28 weeks! Whenever you want to do it :)

I'm 28-29 now and I was going to wait until 36 when I'm on maternity but my husband has asked me to Pack 2 now, one for the car and one for home incase he is out with the car.

34 weeks tomorrow and only started this weekend to take care of the hospital back and nursery. We just finished house renovations, so I couldn't have started any sooner anyway, but I thinkhavingthe bag ready for week 35 will give me peace of mind.

Thanks everyone!! I’m a neonatal nurse so deep down know this baby could come at any point so you’d think I’d have them all done by now😂hope everyone’s pregnancies are going well.

I’m 35 weeks and had my daughter at 34 weeks so I really should have everything ready by now but I’ve sooo much to do 😅

Avatar

Never too early to have it packed as you just don't know when things will start and one thing you do know for sure is you'll be going into hospital and will need that bag! X

I’ve sort of half started and I’m 36+3 really need to get my bum in gear, my advise get it packed! I have absolutely no motivation to finish it on top of finishing sorting my room out for her 🤦 I had some unforeseen family stuff pop up and have had 2 weeks of no prep and now catching up. Xx

Avatar

I think I'm too organised sometimes because I have all of her clothes washed and just ready to organise properly into sizes in her wardrobe too but I feel like I need to be ready in enough time because I have other health issues so I knew I was going to struggle to even move or do anything towards the end. I was right. Struggling loads now so it's a massive help to me that it's done and the couple of minor things i have left to sort, I can do sitting down. Xx

35 weeks tomorrow and I finished mine today. Starting with cervical sweeps on the 27th so spent the weekend washing babies clothes and trying to get organised

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
