18 hours of labour total, born at 8:44am on his due date 24/09. Forrest William Peter Tsang.
I laboured at home from 2pm the day before until I was finally allowed to go to hospital at around 3am, the midwifery unit I was supposed to give birth at was closed due to staffing issues!
I was in the water for about 5 hours with just gas and air which didn’t do anything 😩😂. I ended up with a second degree tear which actually felt good! It gave me a wave of relief and then he was out with one more push. He came out with his hand on the side of his head 🙄
I had a retained placenta which the doctor tried to remove with no pain relief which was worse than all of labour put together. Felt like I was being tortured, then I ended up having to go into theatre which I wished they’d of decided on in the first place. Also remembered that the doctor was trying to remove my placenta with a second degree tear which makes me shudder. BUT it was all worth it.

He’s so adorable! So happy for you and Will!! Hope you’re both doing well and enjoying little Forrest🩵

Thanks ! Yeah we’re doing well, thinking of moving to formula so Will can do some feeds as I’m exclusively breastfeeding and struggling with the sleep deprivation! How did you find the first 6 weeks? And I hope you Jude and Cian are all well!? xx

Omg I had the same issue with my placenta. Makes me feel physically sick thinking about that pain of them trying to manually get it out 🤮

I also had the retained placenta and had to go to theatre! Must be more common than we think! I laboured really fast so it was such a shame about the placenta. I also had a second degree tear but unsure if I was due to labour or if it was purposefully done in order to remove the placenta? xx

makes me feel the exact same way! 😩 x

my partner also wondered this! Doctor was so rough and my tear hadn’t been assessed until after the fact. I’m having a debrief at 12 weeks postpartum so hopefully I’ll get some answers. Hope your recovery is going well x

oh good!! I don’t doubt it. The first 6 Weeks are really tough but also some of the best because your baby just wants to cuddle you 🥹 the sleep will get better and just do as much as possible, easier said then done, I know. I’m still exclusively breast feeding as Jude is refusing to take a bottle 😂 we’ve got to be a bit more persistent tho xx

yeah we’re loving all the cuddles! Can’t put him down without him crying but I don’t mind 😂 I hope so! It’s hard isn’t it! We’ve tried a few different bottles I guess it’s all trial and error. Well done for exclusively breastfeeding for this long, it’s such an amazing thing but SO hard. Bless him, I’m glad you’re all doing well xx

Oh bless his little heart. It is very much so😂 thank you I’m surprised I’ve lasted this long. You too! Xx
