Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit

Has anyone tried the Merlin Magic Sleepsuit? I’ve been recommended to try the Dreamland weighted sleepsuit, but it being weighted makes me nervous. If you have tried the Merlin one, do you put pajamas on your baby under it, leave them in only a diaper, or a short sleeve onesie? I worry it may get too hot with pajamas under.

The AAP website states "Weighted swaddles, weighted clothing or weighted objects on or near the baby are not safe and not recommended."

That being said, you do whatever you feel comfortable with. I personally am not comfortable with it.

we tried the merlin and love it! our LO started to show signs of rolling around 2.5 months so we stopped swaddling. he sleeps great in it and looks like a little marshmellow baby 😂 one thing to be cautious of is potential overheating because the suit is so warm. we just put him in a diaper under the suit since our house is on the warmer side right now.

I love the dreamland, haven’t heard of the merlin one though ! We started the dreamland transition swaddle about 2 weeks ago, best sleep ever for her lol took a min for her to get used to it. It’s only 1.0 TOG but they do have a 2 for colder weather and it’s not so heavy where baby can’t roll or sit up etc on their own

We have the Merlin and love it! We put him in just a diaper so he doesn’t over heat. The Merlin isn’t weighted. Just thicker

A nurse explained how terrible these are. She said that when a baby stops breathing and the Co2 builds in their system, the startle reflex is designed to get them to breathe. When you restrict their movement and take away that reflex, it can be deadly.

so wouldn’t a swaddle do the same thing?

I used the dreamland first then transitioned to the Merlin just so she’ll get used to sleeping with her arms out it’s honestly worked perfectly cause she didn’t keep touching her binky now she’s able to easily sleep with a sleep sack!

My baby is using the Merlin now as we speak. 😂 It has worked perfectly for us. He doesn't make himself up because of his hands. I bathe him, put a onesie, and put on the Merlin. Then we put him in our bassinet which is under our ceiling fan, give him milk, and he's knocked out. I may try putting him in the Merlin without a onesie next time and see what happens, maybe he might enjoy it more? But so far, he's fine temp wise-

normal or infected?

5 weeks post c section , i went at the beginning of the week as my wound had opened completely different area to what’s leaking. was told it didn’t look infected. anyone know if this is normal coming off it, it’s only a little amount at a time

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Baby names

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

I am so done with pregnancy !

Everything i do hurt . I sit down / i stand up / i walk / i lie down. I am in pain ! I am tired ! His mouvement hurt down there like electricity chock ! My back is on fire ! If i walk more then 5 minutes i feel like i am going to die ( low ferritine) the acid reflux is crazy . I mean i can’t and don’t wanna do this no more . Only 31 weeks !
