How many times is too many times to visit triage ?!

My baby isn’t very active in terms of movement and some days will be very very inactive. Iv been to triage twice for reduced movements already this pregnancy and I don’t want them to think I’m being a dramatic FTM but I haven’t felt him move much at all today.
( I have an anterior placenta and I’m 35 weeks )
What do you think I should do ?

Always call. My midwife says always call and you can’t call too many times x

Always call! Omg I was back and forth all the time, they knew me by my first name over the phone as soon as I said hiya, I always had reduced movements and all was okay, but no bother going in for monitoring. They’ll always want to monitor instead of risking it! X

Avatar

Never too many times! If you find yourself feeling worried always call 🤍 You are not being dramatic at all - you know your body and baby. Big hugs and I am sure everything is wonderful xxxx

Avatar

Always call never second guess your self they might start talking about inductions with you as you’ve already been twice x

Avatar

Never worth the risk to not call! I think if you go in a certain amount of times past a certain gestation they will want to reduce you but never risk not calling, better to be safe than sorry xx

Induce*

Avatar

At 35 weeks I was up at triage on the Monday and Tuesday with reduced movements and went into labour on the Friday night so it’s probably worth getting checked xx

Avatar

I went in so many times for reduced movement!! Please go in if you’re worried 🩵

Avatar

Do you have an anterior placenta

Avatar

Thank you all so much 🤍 my baby is also frank breech so I can’t be induced, hence why I always worry about reduced movement 🥺 xxx

Avatar

I had an anterior placenta and his movements were always all over the place. ! I would recommend going in just for reassurance cause I always did! Have you tried something sweet or cold?

Avatar

You can go every day and it still wouldn't be 'too much' 😊 go go!

Avatar

iv just had a cold drink and I felt him move but no strong movements. Going to wait till after dinner and see if food gets him moving xx

Avatar

Maybe invest in a dopler online so you can have peace of mind also at home but never ever feel like you can’t or your being a pain! Go as many times as you feel you need to it’s normal this is your baby and your best interest is to make sure baby is ok and healthy they get it don’t worry! Also if you mentioned how you feel to midwife she would tell you not to be silly and to always go in for reduced movements ! Even today I mentioned to my midwife my little ones movements have changed she wanted to send me in for get it looked at but I think he’s just running out of room in there (he’s on the bigger side) I’m 36 weeks but honestly go 10 times a week if you feel you have to ! X

Avatar

There is no such thing! Ring every time x

Avatar

When I went in they said they have women who come in every day as they don't feel them at all due to placenta placement x

Avatar

Always call!!! From 33 weeks onwards I was there nearly every week! They were always so glad I came in x

Avatar

Im 36+2 and I’ve been 6 times! Never too many times, go as much as you need to. Every time I’ve been in everything has been fine but midwives say it’s better to get checked, cause it eases your mind too! Last thing you want to do is be anxious and get yourself worked up. It’s their job to take care of you🤍

Avatar

I was in there pretty much once a week if not twice since 30 weeks all the way up until 39 weeks when they offered to induce me! Every single time they reassured me that they’d rather see you 1000 times and know your baby is okay than for you to be worried at home and something potentially be wrong because you feel like you’re being dramatic. Just go in if you’re not sure. It’s for the best xxx

Avatar

Go to them, I always felt that I’d rather bother them than risk any harm to my little treasure xxxx they are always lovely too xxx

Avatar

I had an anterior placenta with my last child (now 16 weeks).
I kept having to go in for reduced movements and they kept telling me they would rather see me 100 times and tell me everything fine than not see me and something be wrong.

At 38 weeks I went in and he had a high heart rate and had stopped moving so I’m glad I always went in. He was delivered the same day and he’s a happy chunky little man :)

Avatar

They’ve always said they would far rather you come in than not! It’s so worth it for piece of mind xx

Avatar

Iv had 4 anterior placentas with my first an 2nd I was always up there being monitored coz I just hardly felt any movement with my second I had twice weekly monitoring from about 35 weeks due to it with my 3rd she had a pattern I use to feel her movements more on the sides only had a couple of occasions where I went in I was going the evening I went into labour I had rang to say she’s not moving much was sorting the kids went for a wee an my waters broke with the last one she was normally quiet all day an would bounce about all evening if she was a bit quiet I use to have a cold drink warm bath or lay on my left side an she would wake up

Avatar

I went in a fair few times for reduce movements and each time I had to stay as my bp was high ….ended up with preeclampsia but we made it to 39 weeks …..you can never go too many times x

Avatar

I am 26 weeks and went there 2 times until now , they always said you can come again if you feel worried, even they did scan at 24 again to check the baby , thank god now I think baby is bit growing nd I fee movements

Avatar

ALWAYS GO IN! We see some women every day! And would always rather see you if you're worried and everything be fine than you not come.in on the one day it isn't fine! X

Avatar

My sister who is a nurse just talked to me about this, she said please go in any time you are concerned about it. They would rather have you come in a billion times then not come in and your baby is dead. Just air on the side of caution and don't feel bad

Avatar

I have asked myself this question a lot (I am 27 weeks and have gone to maternity assignment for reduced movement about 7 times already) if your worried go in. Even if your worried everyday, go in.

Avatar

No amount of times is to many ... my pregnancy before my most recent one i was in there once maybe twice a week ... i had an anterior placenta as well as a 10lb 2oz baby and undiagnosed gestational diabetes .. she was a stubborn little monkey and caused a lot of anxiety as i miscarried a few months before i became pregnant with her.. obviously try a few things at home ice polls, fizzy pop, bath, favourite music etc to see if you get movement but never ever leave it and think your being a nuisance ... no one enjoys sitting and waiting in hospitals however my midwife at the time made me feel like i was over exaggerating and my routine appointment she was like oh in hospital again i see made me feel a bit cr@ppy... but the ladies in triage when i went in were very lovely and said sternly NEVER ever leave it and go in as it could be that one time you wish you did and it be to late just because you feel a nuisance which she reassured me i was not. my baby just had no room to move about and my placenta

Avatar

Blocked a lot of movements ... so please do not feel this way ... your baby relys on you to protect and keep safe so you definitely go girl if in doubt... xxx

Avatar

So at this stage of pregnancy, movement shouldn't decrease in frequency, but the quality of the movement will change.

My midwife would tell me to lay down on my side and do kick counts. As long as I could get... was it 10 or something movements/kicks within an hour, things were probably fine.

I would not recommend getting a dopplar. Movement is your best indicator at how baby is doing.

Try doing kick/movement counts. But if your gut tells you to go get checked-- go get checked.

Avatar

I went every time I had concerns because it wasn’t worth the risk for me, this ended up being 5 times over a few months. The midwife told me herself she’d rather I come in 100 times and baby be fine, than me not come in and something end up being wrong. In the end, I was induced due to reduced movements and we found out during labour/after he was born that I had polyhydraminos causing reduced movements and a growth restriction so persistently coming in was a good thing!

Avatar

Agree with not using a doppler St home. If you are worried about your baby, go in. End of. Too many times women have been reassured by home dopplers and baby has not been fine. I've had 2 cases where we were too late to be able to save baby. If those 2 women had come in when they were worried instead of listening at home, they might have gone home with their babies. Please don't use them if you're worried about your baby.

Avatar

I know how this feeling is but thank of it this way mama you’re almost there and he’ll be here before you know it 🩵

ALWAYS call when in doubt

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Planned c section

Has anyone had a planned c section and been home the same day?

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?

Movements

I’m 28 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I had loads and loads of movements but today I have only felt small flutters and a couple of kicks throughout the day. I get so confused as some people say they don’t have a pattern but others say they do. We have a Doppler so used it this evening and could hear the heartbeat and then moving but does anyone else get quieter days of movement than others? I am seeing my midwife tomorrow so will check but just find myself getting anxious about it and don’t know when to get checked. I know they encourage it but last time as soon as I got to triage baby started moving loads!

Movements With Second Baby

Im 17 weeks pregnant with my second baby, but I still haven’t felt any movement. I was expecting to feel it early with it being my second pregnancy, so was just wondering when other mums felt movement with their second+ pregnanices? I have a lot of anxiety this time round after this pregnancy started with twins but I lost one after everything looked to be going well, so desperate to feel some movement just for a bit of reassurance. Thanks in advance 🩷
