Well folks just a heads up the 511 rule for contractions are not a for sure thing. I accidentally had a home birth last week. How? OB always told me to head to the hospital when you reach 511 : contractions 5 minutes apart, 1 minute in length, for 1 hour. With my first baby I was only at 4cm when we reached the 511 cadence and went to the hospital too early. We’re lucky they let me stay and my baby was born 8 hours later after 3 hours of pushing. Second baby contractions were all over the place. 8, 15, 6, 25 minutes apart all under a minute in length. Never reached 511… I had 2 or 3 really strong contractions and we decided to load the car. Then my water broke and all hell broke loose. Baby was out within like 5 minutes. Delivered by my mom and husband. Definitely was not the plan but luckily we’re both healthy and doing great 😊 This is just a reminder that it never hurts to go in early before reaching 511! If you’re not sure if you’re in active labor, go in and get checked!

Congratulations. That’s a hell of a story to tell. I’m glad ur ok. I’m sure it was stressful.

Congratulations

Omg how does this work? Do you have to clamp the cord yourselves? All I know is to get blankets but maybe everyone should be a bit more prepared in case this happens?

Oh and of course congratulations!!!! all the best for baby and you 🤩💖🫶🏽 glad everything turned out alright!n
