Hey, just wondering if anyone can help. I EBF my baby boy and have been experiencing slight breast pain in the right side. I have also started with body aches and chills. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

It’s probably masistis. I had the same lastnight and have rang my doctors this morning. Best thing for it is a warm bath and massage the breast that’s affected. If you have a pump try and use that a little bit to ease it after the bath. I feel a lot better this morning from doing that! X

I literally have this same question
And was googling in the night. It said the chills and flu like symptoms determined it would be mastitis over blocked duct x

I was just worried because I don’t want antibiotics and have to stop BF

Ring maternity helpline you are under them for 10days. I had mastitis and they told me to go in straight away I was there less than 30mins and they gave me antibiotics. You can continue to BF, you are encouraged to as this will help pass the blockage. It can get worse quickly so definitely ring and get checked out x

I have it now - definitely go get seen and get antibiotics as she said it can get very bad, very quickly. The number one advice is keep breastfeeding so don't worry about that:) x

Thank you everyone. I’m going to the doctors today x

Get some cabbage leaves and put them in your bra. Also you can get silver nipple shields that go over your nipples between feeds - they have been a godsend for me!

When I asked this midwife checked my temperature and if boob was red.
When he feeds try to massage the lumps out with your fingers and you can put a heat pack on the swollen part before a feed and start the massage before one too. If you can predict thr feed times! But yes do get checked out but maybe this can help in the meantime
I get chills when LO sleeps too long and I'm just engorged but it has not turned into mastitis so far
