My boy is coming up to 6 months old and he will not nap longer than 30 mins. Ive tried everything. He will not nap on me, he won't nap in his pram (apart from for short cat naps). I put him down for naps in a pitch black room with white noise. I've been told to try and leave him to see if he resettles himself. But he goes down for the nap fine and every time after 30 mins he wakes up and will scream and scream until I come and get him. I've tried periodically going in to settle him but feel like when I go in it just makes him wake up even more and then we get no where. I ended up doing the checking and settling process for way longer than he actually sleeps for and then it just properly messes up our day. He's currently only doing 3 30 min naps a day and I spend the majority of my day trying to get him to nap for longer. I'm at a loss as to what I should be doing. Please can anyone help?!

I gave up after trying everything. I accepted that my girl just doesn't need so much daytime sleep. I know that sounds deflating but at least now I don't fight with her for half the day.

How long does he sleep at night?
Glad it's not just me
he sleeps generally well at night, goes to be around 7pm and wakes once for a feed around 3am.. but then he has also been waking up at 5am to start the day recently. I don't know how he's not exhausted!

My 6 month old is the same, I’ve been so upset for months as all my friends babies sleep for 2 hour naps and I feel I have no time to do anything in the house or even have time to get myself ready in the mornings. Tried everything and found I’ve gotten more upset putting pressure on myself trying to get her down and it failing miserably. I just roll with it and let her stay up now and if I have things to do she just plays or watches Ms Rachel.

Does he need to sleep for longer? I found that once I expected my baby to have short naps I was a lot less stressed about it. She will nap for anywhere from 25-45 mins usually, I just expect that and then we get on with our day.
