Sweeps

I’m having a sweep at 38 weeks so following x

I’ve heard a lot of mixed things it’s never the same thing for anyone some people have had one and it works instantly and then some of had some and it doesn’t work … no ones the same . But there’s really no harm in having one as if you have an induction it will help get your cervix ready x

I had one this morning, she said I was 2cm dilated, nothings happened so far but have another Friday x

Sorry just to add. I don’t feel defeated because I will be induced on the 28th anyway but like you, I wanted to give the sweeps a go before induction. And your right, if anything, you will find out what’s going on with your cervix :) x

how many weeks are you? I’ve heard they are uncomfortable, did you have any bleeding/ symptoms after? X

I’m 37, being induced at 38+5, uncomfortable but not painful and I haven’t had any at all no bleeding! X

do they use a speculum?

The consultant I spoke to today said the more painful the sweep the more likely it is to work ! So if it hurts that’s a good thing as they r doing a intense sweep x

She didn’t use a speculum,x

My midwife mentioned them at 36 weeks and said we'd discuss at 38 weeks but I will be declining. They're uncomfortable and not proven to work x

I had 5 last pregnancy didn’t work at all won’t be having them this time just uncomfortable and done nothing 😂xx
