What are the best electric breast pumps? I’m thinking of breastfeeding when baby arrives but I’m also not sure! What worked best for you did you breastfeed and pump into a bottle or breast feed and formula?! I don’t want baby to constantly be latched onto my boob as I want my partner to do some night feeds as well and I’ve got MAM bottles. Any recommendations or help please x

I love my zomee z2 pump and my zomee fit pump. When I first started off I had to supplement with formula because my milk was still establishing. I would pump as much as I could and breastfeed as much as I could to get my milk supply up. It took me about 1 & a half months to finally make enough milk to were I didn’t have to supplement anymore so I dropped the formula. 3 months in and I’m a exclusive pumper and only nurse for comfort. It was a lot of sweat, blood and tears tbh. You’ve got this mama, whatever you decide to do and what works best for you. You can also try pumping in morning which is when milk supply is high and save that milk for bottles. Look into the pitcher method as well, it’s worked great for me. You’ll want to get some nipple cream, you’ll need it! And if you decide to go the pump way a little coconut oil on the flanges help lubricate the flange.

this was so helpful! I really want to give baba a better immune system than what formula can give but I’m also really scared to breastfeed as I feel it’s less complicated to formula feed! Such a nerve racking thing, maybe it might come naturally once baby is here as maybe I’m just overthinking it right now xx

I understand ! Themilknest on Instagram really has some helpful information. At the end of the day fed is best. There was a point in time I almost gave up because it was becoming a lot, it took me a bunch of dedication and perseverance. It really is a journey lol.
That first month or so I wouldn’t expect to have a extra big supply of milk mainly because it’s still establishing. It’s different for everyone tho. Just keep at it and it’ll come in.
Just remember to do what’s best for you and what works best for you 🫶

I wouldn't buy one until the baby arrives as you don't know why you need it until they're here
Pumping to build supply is different to pumping for an occasional bottle
You may also choose not to pump at all

I was an exclusive pumper due to baby couldn’t latch properly until around 2 months old. I wish I had hired a hospital grade pump. I liked the Medela one that the hospital let me use. I also used formula due to unable to latch and I wasn’t getting enough milk at the beginning. I would say combi feeding worked well for us. Now she is bigger and able to latch, I still do breast and bottle feeding and she prefers breast but can feed from bottle too. Some babies can reject breast once they have bottles. If you still want to breastfeed, always use the smallest teat
