Well I am 40-41 weeks depending on which due date we go off. My midwife approved me trying castor oil to try and induce baby.
I took about 2 oz mixed with ice-cream and almond butter to try and hide the oil texture and settle better in my stomach. Wasn't bad to eat but after an hour I felt nauseous. Drank water and ate crackers to try and subdue it.. no luck.
About an hour and a half or so after I took it I projectile vomited most of it up. Idk how much if any stuck but idk if I'll try again or not.
Midwife said if I can't keep it down then it won't do much.
Definitely bummed by this but don't know if I'll try again or not. I'll update if I do š

Iāve been thinking about doing this but havenāt heard any good outcomes

I feel like that was your sign to not do it. Itās more of an irritant than an actual remedy. Itās main purpose was for constipation.

The midwifes said they typically have success if people are able to keep it down. They said they've only had 2 people successfully take it and it not start labor so I was hopeful.
My bodys just always been good at puking up things that don't settle well..
Gluten, too much dairy, liquor, old chicken. You name it š¤£š¤£š¤¦āāļø

I tried it and it didnāt work with my son. This time I couldnāt find any to try. If you do put it in a drink instead of eating it

Yikes no way I could do it. My midwife will end services if we do castor oil because of the meconium passing risks it poses to the baby and with fetal aspiration. Definitely not chancing that.

It helped to rub castor oil on my belly my water broke the next day at 38 weeks

itās not necessarily wrong info, for using it and a warm towel can relieve bloating.
Before American got ahold of it it was African/Indian

my statement is my experience my perspective. I never started it as facts. It was suggested by my birth team and I think it worked for me .

They say Castor oil not good Iām not sure though

Ask your midwife if you can massage it on your belly, hips and thighs. As castor oil absorbs in skin good too, might help. My grandma and ma use to do it during pregnancy

it does absorb into the skin and help stimulate the bowels witch is the aid in kick starting labor
