Growth spurt??

My baby is 6 weeks old. He is formula fed. He got eczema around 4 weeks old and our dr suggested switching to soy based. We just made the switch this evening. We also recently switched bottles this past weekend with no issues. Today, baby has been pretty fussy and eating less ounces. He normally eats 4 oz every 2.5-3hrs. Today he has ate between 2-3oz either every hour or every 3ish hours. He’s still kept up with the amount he normally eats in a day, just all over the place though. He’s had his original formula most of the day. So I’m not sure if that’s normal for the 6-8 week growth spurt? He’s also been very gassy the past few weeks but gas drops have helped tremendously. We’re thinking he has a dairy allergy of some sort and that switching to soy will take care of a lot of the issues.

Definitely a growth spurt! We had the easiest baby in the world and decided to go on vacation when she was 6 weeks old and she was a hot mess!! Same thing happened and we barely had time to do anything because she was constantly wanting to feed. Have you tried similac alimentum? I was breastfeeding and she also developed eczema and her belly was hurting and it’s been so amazing!!! A lot of moms I know has said the same thing. I’m hoping she outgrows it so I could go back to breastfeeding though

he was originally on similac 360 sensitive and did great the first few weeks. We just switched to gerber gentle soy. I’ve heard a lot of great things about similac alimentum so I’ll keep it in mind if the soy doesn’t seem to be doing much! Thanks for the reassurance about the growth spurt. I’ve only read that they are supposed to eat a ton during growth spurts and for his first one around 3 weeks, that was true. I swear I worry about every little thing 😅

you and me both! I wish I could tell you it gets easier but I’m constantly worrying🤣I also heard great things about goat milk formula if those 2 doesn’t work for your babe🤗hang in there I heard the first 3 months are the hardest😝

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
