Nap times

Anybody else’s baby sleep beautifully during the night, but day time naps are a shambles?! 😂 My LO sleeps well during the night, maybe waking up once for a feed, but during the day he barely sleeps for 20 minutes at a time. He wakes up and then can’t get back to sleep. He ends up screaming the house down because he’s so over tired. I have no idea how to help him during the day 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same as night, make sure room is dim (not as dark) white noise, rocking x

Literally!! Sleeps from 6pm- 7am in the night on her own. Day time she naps for 40 mins in the morning and then the rest of the day can’t nap unless being held and screams bloody murder when over tired. I don’t get it?!

how old is the LO. Mine is 8 weeks and sleeps 7-8 hrs and was wanting to see if that’s ok or should I wake him up for feeding

Mine is 4 months in a week. I think at 8 weeks I was waking her every 4 hours but if above birth weight it’s okay to let them sleep. I ended up just letting her wake me up if she was hungry and in the end she just slept through. X

Exactly the same here! Just over 12 weeks old and has had really good night sleep, but during the day the most I get is 40 minutes (if I’m lucky) and then constantly upset because she’s tired! Nothing I try works🤦🏼‍♀️😭x

My baby is 3 months. He sleeps 10-11 hours at night and then he has 5 30-40 min naps during the day.
I have paid for the huckleberry app and it tells me when they are due and it’s always bang on.

do you find he does well with this amount of naps or is he ever overtired? Never know if it’s just what she needs or if I should be worried! X

Exactly the same. My daughter is 13 weeks old tomorrow. Sleeps pretty well during the night, but during the day is very difficult make her sleep even if I can see perfectly that she is very tired. Then I try to do things with her but all day long is exhausting and probably then she is also overstimulated. Any advices? Does someone know a good day sleep routine or something like that?

Avatar

my son will start shouting at things when he’s over stimulated so that’s when I know to take him away from that. I also have a 1.5/2 hour wake window from when he woke up, to when he needs another nap.
My son sleeps perfectly during the day when I go off that guide. I hope this helps xx

Our girl used to be exactly the same till we bought a Graco swing seat from Argos and it sends her to sleep every time without fail so far🤞🏽 just transfer her once she’s asleep! Only pain is when we are out and about we can’t take it with us as it’s so clunky so have to rock and pray when out and about😂

I think it might be a phase my LO is 16 weeks and around 12/13 weeks she did this for 2-3 weeks, she wouldn’t nap anywhere for longer than 20-40 mins at a time and it was hell 😂😂 she now will have a 2-3 hour nap in the morning/lunchtime and 2 shorter naps in the afternoon and sleeps 12 hours at night xx

Avatar

I found trying to stick to a strict 1.5 hour wake window helped though to stop her getting over tired xx

My daughter is 14 weeks and exactly the same, sleeps through the night (so grateful for this) but during the day will just refuse to nap unless it’s on me, nothing seems to work- following sleep cues/ black out blinds/ white noise/ rocking/shhing etc etc so she gets overtired and is a monster. Hoping this passes quickly!! X

it’s what he needs based on his wake windows. I use the huckleberry app that tells me when it’s due based on his age. I can set it at 4, 4-5 or 5 naps a day. He doesn’t nap longer than 45 min so even if I set it to 4, it ends up being 5. Again this will change each month as his wake windows increase.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
