Struggling a lot with milk supply. Had enough when he was taking 3-4 oz but the jump up to 5-6 is killing me. If I were to add 1-2 formula feedings a day and the rest breast milk, is there a preferred time of day? Also, is there a formula that is best for this?

I would do formula for bedtime because it’s heavier than breastmilk, so babe’s belly is fuller longer. Babe should skip a feed, so you’d still want to pump to keep your supply up. Also, make sure you’re eating a lot and drinking tons of water. I don’t really have a formula suggestion because every baby is different, but I’d go for one that’s close to breastmilk (it’ll say on the can) or one that’s gentle on their tummy. You’re just gonna have to play around with it and see what works best for you both. There’s no 1 right answer. Good luck, momma!

Feed formula at bedtime! Formula takes longer to digest, so you and baby can hopefully get some extra sleep 😴 I’ve never used formula so I can’t give any recommendations:/

Im in the same situation you are. I started one formula feed before bed and then one when he wakes up in the morning. Then I do breast milk in between. I starred using Aussie Bubs Supreme. It’s been amazing and it’s organic from New Zealand, grass fed cows, clean award all the good stuff. They also have regular and goats milk versions in case babe needs extra sensitive. You can only buy online but Amazon has it and the website runs really great buy one get one deals every 3 months or so.

We started supplementing at 3 weeks with Aussie Bubs Organic and it’s been great! Baby hasn’t shown preference unless he’s fussy (then he prefers a bottle) and he gets breastfed exclusively during the night into the next morning.
We use preemie/size 0 nipples on the bottle so he still has to work for it and doesn’t just gulp it down. This seems to help a lot with gas/digestion issues too.
My lac consultant said to stay away from goats milk formula if you’re ever concerned about baby’s weight because she’s seen weight loss occur after parents switched over (guessing because it’s leaner than cows milk) just FYI!
