Induction

Oh I'm so sorry, I remember the feeling with my first, I was told with three days notice that I was being induced after a really smooth low risk pregnancy and I was such a tangle of emotion!

I actually had the pessary first and then the gel, but it was the gel that got me dilated enough to have my waters broken. It did burn a bit when they first applied it, contractions appeared pretty quickly. I used a tens machine over night, waters were broken about 7 hours later. I was put straight on the drip because they thought there might have been meconium in my waters but I think they usually give you a couple of hours to see if you progress naturally. Baby was born ten hours later, zero complications.

There are a lot of horror stories with induction but it's not always like that I promise! Just prepare for a lot of waiting around as it's usually lack of room on delivery that holds you up.
