I saw a post on here recently asking about gyms with childcare and it’s made me think about going back to David Lloyd only because of the crèche
I haven’t been for years (maybe 6) but I’ve heard mixed reviews from people who currently go or have recently had tours to join - the consensus is that it isn’t what it used to be..
Is anyone on here a member.. How are you finding it? Do you use the crèche & if so what is it like.
I’m a single mum so being able to have the option to get out of the house and relax or work out knowing my baby is looked after by professionals is what works for me and justifies the cost.. I’d just like to know of people’s experiences, the cleanliness of the club, what the crèche is like etc xx

I do a mums club at my private training facility called Base19. You can train and bring your babies with you 🤩

I am a member although haven’t used the crèche. It is alright- it is a friendly club and I find all of the mothers who I meet in the pool when I have my little one with me are very friendly, so it’s not an intimidating gym as some can be. It isn’t the luxurious place it used to be, the changing rooms look exactly the same as they always have done etc. I have complained in the past about the nappy bins ALWAYS being full to the point of overflowing and it isn’t always spotless, but I still think it’s good- the outdoor pool and the classes are great!

I ended my membership just before I fell pregnant. It really wasn’t the luxurious/ premium gym I was expecting especially for the price, the changing rooms weren’t clean- no toilet paper in toilets, bins full, no hand soap etc. The classes were the main reason for me joining but the times didn’t line up with my work and seemed to be booked up in advance x

I currently go and take my 6m LO a few times a week. A few months ago they introduced a free baby class on Mondays not too dissimilar to Totsplay - songs, messy play, free play. There are also regularly free events for under 3s such as a Halloween party I recently attended. It’s £2 a month for my baby as a member to have unlimited access to the soft play area and the swimming pool - I find this works better for me than attending classes at a specific time especially whilst she transitions between nap schedules etc. this also includes free swimming nappies!
I haven’t used the crèche facilities yet but the lady who runs the classes runs the crèche and she’s very lovely. Everyone I’ve met who’s used the crèche also only have good things to say about it.
It is extremely hard to justify the price especially as a young mum, so I recommend if you plan to go at least 5+ times a week, with or without your baby. I tend to go every day in some capacity or I feel hideously guilty!
