When is last nap before bedtime

I’ve seen a lot of posts saying you put babies down at 9/10pm for bed and they wake at whatever time in the morning, im slowly trying to start an evening routine but his day naps are still all over the place which means “bedtime” is different every night! When you put your babies to bed at 9/10, when is their last nap of the day and then are you keeping them/making them stay awake until their bedtime? Xx

Following as I’m pretty much the same. We have just turned 12 weeks, currently on holiday but when we get back I think I need to be a bit more disciplined! 😂

it’s so difficult isn’t it!! I have all intentions of being in a routine but my little one has other ideas and just naps literally ANY time of the day sometimes 15 minutes sometimes 2 hours, something at 2pm and sometimes at 5pm for 2 hours! Then I’m confused what to do with bed time at that point 😂 x

Totally! We are an expert 30 minute napper, but I’m lucky if I get 2 a day and they could be anytime. The other day he fell asleep at like 6.30/7 and I knew it was a bad idea, but let him sleep. Was very difficult getting him back to sleep later that night 🤣🤣 so I am trying to avoid naps at between 6-8 if I can but like you say, often the baby has other ideas 🫣

I pop my baby to bed earlier than this but Iv found to try gain some form of routine the best thing to do it wake baby at the same time every morning so that the day always starts off the same meaning wake windows etc should be fairly similar and keep a night time routine consistent so if baby does fall asleep wake with enough time to build some sleep pressure before bed etc so for example my baby goes to bed for 7 every night so his last nap ends at 5:15 latest xx

I take my little girl up to bed between 10-10:30, she has a feed and then will sleep through until 8:30/9:30, depending on what our plans are for the day! Throughout the day I don’t give her a set time for naps, she has 4 bottles a day which are typically 10,2,6,10 and her wake windows are often up to 2 hours (been a bit shorter recently as she’s had a cold and jabs) but her last nap can be any time, if I can have her awake for an hour or so before bed I like to but also if we don’t I don’t stress, for example tonight she slept from 8:45-10, woke up to change her nappy and have her bottle and shes back sleeping again! I have to keep her upright for half hour after a feed due to bad reflux but once I move her into her crib she should sleep all through the night 🥰

Really recommend the Napper app which we’ve been using for about 4 weeks now… it recalculates estimated times your baby will get tired depending on night wakings, morning wake up time and when and how long they nap during the day. For us it is scarily accurate! One thing I only realised a week in though is you’re not supposed to wait until the exact time to put your baby down / give them the right environment to sleep - winding down at least 15 but ideally 30 mins before is most effective for making sure you don’t swing into overtiredness… on average our 14 week old is falling asleep for the night at 8.30 and waking at about 7… night waking has been a bit all over the place since we started but usually get at 5.5- more recently 7ish hour stretch to the first waking, then maybe another brief feed/nappy change around 5am before waking up properly at 7.

My 4 month olds bedtime is somewhere between 8/9pm iv tried earlier and he just wont settle! His last nap normally ends around 6pm sometimes half 6 and we just have loads of play time a bath a feed etc but i wouldn’t let him nap after 6.30pm!x

fingers crossed we’ll slowly get there!❤️🤞🏻

great idea thank you!! Xx

that’s amazing!! Definitely made me feel better about not having a set routine thank you and I hope the reflux gets better for you I know how difficult it is❤️

so I’ve literally just got huckleberry plus which does similar as people swear by it!! Also so weird you say about the time before the nap as we have started this the last couple of days and my god what a difference!! For so long we completely missed the fact he could’ve been sleeping as he didn’t seem tired but was! Thank you xxx

Avatar

Amazing that you’re seeing a difference! Really hope it keeps working for you. It’s so hard to tell sleep cues from other things most the time and there’s no way I have the headspace to remember nap times and lengths/recalculate next nap times myself at the moment!

ahhh amazing thank you think I’ll start aiming for this xxx

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
