Or advice to try and dissociate from crying/whinging.
3 yo and 6 month old over here who I obviously love till death and beyond but I struggle with the noises stated above. I am understanding and lovely with them but on days where it’s near constant lord SAVE ME I just don’t know what to do and obviously don’t want to get annoyed with them, they’re my precious little babies.
If you too struggle with these sounds, how do you cope? What techniques do you apply?
TIA, a very overstimulated mum mummm muuuuum.
PS I did buy noise reducing ear plugs. The music kind. But they irritate the feck out of my holes

My only coping tip is having a child friendly show you like on up loud 😩 mines spongebob. It helps drown him out

When they both start it can be unbearable can’t it? 🤦♀️ mine set each other off as well. Although thank goodness that’s improving a tiny bit.
I’m guilty of giving my daughter a phone or snack to give me a 5 mins break from it. She’s dropped her nap now which is making her grumpy in the afternoon. Yay 😂
I try to get out the house as well if it’s really bad. Even if I just drive for a bit with music on in the car.
I’ve 3 older children so I know it does get easier but while you are in the thick of it, it feels forever. A friend recently said to me “the years go fast, but the days are long”
From one overstimulated, tired and over touched mumma ❤️

Earplugs are my go-to. When I manage to dial down my sensory overwhelm I can usually turn my empathy back on. If in-ear ones like Loop or FlareAudio don't work for you, try a good old pair of ear defenders for builders. I love my in ear plugs but I also keep a pair of ear defenders hanging in my kitchen which is where my children's noise affects me most - I can put them on quickly while cooking without having to wash my hands first and wipe them clean later. I burn dinner less and drop fewer things when I have them on!

A tip with baby is to play some uplifting feel good music (headphones - preferably comfortable ones lol) cuz you wont feel the stress from the crying if you don't hear it and you "positive vibes" from the music so then you are in a better mood and then baby feeds off of that as well.
As for the 3 year old I find having some healthy snacks around and feeding them little and often helps. Also just distractions. Instead of saying no don't do that don't do this create distractions or choices so they feel more in control of what they are doing or like they have alternatives. Instead of doing that why don't we try this wow look how fun this looks. Seems to be working with my 3 year old lol and then I give her fruit or bread sticks and the occasional treat of a juice box throughout the day lol sometimes even just going in a different room in the house can help xx
