I’ve been in the latent phase of labour for the past 3 days now and feeling like active labour will never kick in! Contractions are still irregular but are quite painful and lasting 40-70 seconds each time and are coming every 3 to 8 minutes (not getting longer or stronger or closer together though.) It’s making sleeping impossible!
Has anyone been through similar or is currently in the latent phase? Is there an end in sight? 😄

You are doing amazing... I could not cope with this for 3 days.... Period type pain 1 min in 5 and cannot get any sleep. Been like this since 2am (40+4)

thank you- so are you! Let’s hope things speed up for us now… we will got this!

oh no, hope you’re feeling okay! Mines in my back too.
It’s difficult not knowing how long this stage will last isn’t it. I ended up getting checked at the hospital in the night and I’m only 2cm dilated, I’m in quite bad pain with the contractions and have been all night, but they just told me to ring back when they’re 3 mins apart and lasting longer than 1 minute each. For now it’s painkillers and a bath 🥲
Super frustrating but we get the best reward at the end of it! ❤️ stay positive and give me a message if you need a chat/ rant 😊

Totally with you on this! I’m currently 36 hours into the same thing and feeling like it’s never ending or getting any better! Keep going, you’ve got this! 😊

If its in your back look at the spinning babies website for poses in labour like side lying release and tuck and tilt to scooch baby down in a better position. I was slow to progress due to baby face facing back (although body was not facing back) and midwives suggested it and I regret not trying but I felt I had no time between my contractions to explain the poses to my partner and already being 4cm at that point I was afraid of the pain being more intense as I knew tuck and tilt would do. But looking back should have done it. Idk why the midwives didn't just show him the poses or they didn't realise I couldn't communicate that much.
Good luck! Try to keep calm and keep bresthing through. Warm shower with high pressure on your back may be nice or if your partner presses flat hand against your back with heel of hand at coccyx and fingers pointing up
