What’s the sugar content? I gave my daughter full fat Greek yogurt when we first started weaning. I’d blend berries into that sometimes too.

Avatar

i would check the sugar content and make sure it doesn’t have any harmful dyes

Greek yoghurt is better . Better to get them used to plain than sweet/ sugary

Avatar

Plain/natural yoghurt is better. Full fat. Less sugar, just add your own mashed fruit to sweeten! Greek is quite high in protein and they aren't meant to have a lot x

Avatar

I use(d) these. But would only serve ½ a pot at a time.

As a busy mum with another child with special needs, I haven't got time for faffing around preparing separate meals for everyone. I did BLW from 6 months and he ate what we ate. I also cannot afford to be buying food especially for him 🤷🏻‍♀️

My daughter was having yogurts like these from 17 weeks, she’s 3 1/2 years old now and turned out just fine. I’ve learnt not to ask others for opinions & just go with your gut and whatever you want to do x

Avatar

They will be fine 👌🏽

Avatar

Yes

Avatar

I'd start natural yogurt with fruit or on its own.. at 18m I then introduced him to these yogurts x

Avatar

full fat natural yogurt is the best as greek yogurt has a lot of protein and they are only aloud a certain amount a day, u can buy peti flues however it’s spelt with no added sugar which are fine x

Avatar

Safe? Yes. The best option nutritionally? No. I used full fat green yogurt with a little fruit purée mixed in to sweeten at first.

Avatar

My daughter has similar to these and she is 19 months with a heathy balance of food.
To me greek yogurt isnt nice no matter what you put in it lol

Avatar

couldn’t agree more!

Avatar

100% fat Greek yoghurt with vanilla, from M&S is nice 😅 whether it’s healthy or not, I don’t know.

Avatar

@Emma I prefer natural yoghurt and fruit, it all depends on your taste doesn't it lol. I wouldn't eat half the things I give my baby tbf and I don't like unsalted food!

Avatar

definitely! Ive never been a fan of either lol tbh my daughter eats what i eat. If we have stock she has the normal stock lol but loves her veg xx

Avatar

@Emma yeah I use normal stock aswell I'm not toning down my chilli though hah he has something else that night 🤣 x

Avatar

I use these type or petit filous

Avatar

lol love it!! Too right! X

Avatar

Out of interest, in the UK, where can you buy unsweetened Greek yoghurt? It’s really difficult to find.

Avatar

I buy the Tesco finest big tub.

Avatar

thanks, will try it

Avatar

Yes my LB was fine on these at this age x

Avatar

I mean we all think this but then you have a 1 year old licking play doh of the floor and you wonder why you were so bothered.

Avatar

her baby is 5 months. I understand at 1 years old but cause we are talking about a young baby

Avatar

aldi do it aswell

Avatar

thanks, I’ll check it out

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
