Positive induction story!

Just wanted to post this as I struggled to find positive stories before Riley arrived on Saturday.

As with baby number one my waters went but there was no sign of regular contractions. With baby number one I opted to wait until 48 hours and he made his own way just within the window without needing an induction but ended up with constant monitoring, stationary in labour and in theatre with a spinal for a forceps delivery & episiotomy - not what I had hoped for at all!

This time I decided to opt for an induction for a variety of reasons (including childcare, infection risk and storm Babette!) I went straight for the hormone drip (the thing I was adamant I would never do!) And Riley was here 3.5 hours after the drip was switched on. Yes the contractions were intense but it did build up so was manageable - I had gas and air and was just discussing an epidural when it was time to push and out she came in 4 mins! I was so happy to avoid any further interventions and recovery wise I'm already feeling 100 times better than last time.

So good to see a positive story, my first baby was induced and it did not go well. With this baby, my waters broke but no signs of labour, so I have been told I have to go in to hospital today. Gives me a bit of hope 🙃

we were lucky that there was a really good consultant on when we got to the hospital and we could talk through all the options and associated risks while making a decision so recommend asking lots of questions!

I had a positive induction too. Same story with waters breaking and not going into labour. My little one arrived in 7 hours with no other interventions than the drip! ❤️

So glad to see this positive induction story. My waters broke this morning but didn't have any contractions after. Was told to be assessed at MAU, went over was 1cm and had a sweep. I've come home and been getting mild cramps on and off since but told if labour doesn't come on naturally I am booked in for induction at 9am tomorrow.
I'm really nervous about the induction especially the hormone drip as I've heard it can be really intense and wasn't sure if other methods were offered before hand. I'm hoping that I naturally go into labour before then but it's good to hear there can be positive stories from this if not x

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

My baby is due April 22 what should I put in my hospital bag

19 month olds height

Hi, my little boys height is 77.5cm. Doctors seem concerned and are looking at investigating, anyone else been through similar? He’s 20 pounds also. He’s 19 months old

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
