Just looking some advice on what the internal scan is like?
I have an early reassurance scan booked for next week and was told it will be internal. Just wondering what it’s like and is it painful? 😬
Totally worth it to see baby early but just want to prepare myself just incase 😊

I had one to find out the gender and it wasn’t bad at all! If you’ve ever had a smear test or coil fitted etc, it’s 1000% easier because it doesn’t go in as far 😂 I was very pleasantly surprised, definitely worth it! X

hey girl, had an internal scan at 7 weeks and it’s honestly not as bad as i thought! it just a bit cold and not too uncomfortable either, if it did get too uncomfortable you can ask to stop at any time!
the probe looks daunting but they only need to insert a small amount xx

Thankyou! That helps a lot lol. Yeah I’ve had a smear test before and honestly thought it was grand!

I had one at 34 weeks and I honestly couldn’t feel it! I was expecting like a smear but it didn’t go far in at all 😂

It’s not painful just uncomfortable tbh it’s jsut pressure

It's definitely not painful, when I had mine with my first it was super discrete, they didn't even look in that direction and just kind of felt for where it needed to go. Really no where as bad as you expect it to be :)

I'd say it's more awkward/uncomfortable than painful (and I am someone who experiences pain at smear tests). It's just kind of embarrassing to have a light saber/dildo shoved up you but we all go through it 😆 I've had them before for endometriosis and just tried not to think about it.
