I prefer Pecid AC, sometimes one tablet doesn’t last the whole day, however I have noticed a significant difference. Tums really didn’t do much for me

Pepcid AC. Tums barely worked for me. If I took more than 2 in a certain amount of time I'd throw up.

@Emily @Amarisa thanks so much for the feedback! I haven't tried pepcid ac yet and thought it really wouldn't do much. I didn't know tums had side effects like nausea and am thinking maybe THAT'S what's making me nauseous at 28 weeks.

you're welcome.

I haven’t tried Pepcid but time don’t work for me

Oh and for me at least I take the 20mg pepcid AC. One would usually last me all day but I'd also take it at like 10:30 at night. But thats just what I did since my heartburn would act up once I went to bed.

@Amarisa is that the extra strength? Does doubling up on the tablet do the same thing?

Apparently tums cause worse heartburn. I take pepcid complete twice a day max. Sometimes tums too until my doc told me it causes more acid in the stomach...

@Sandi it's the maximum strength. There were days when my heartburn was really bad and I took two in the same day but spaced out and I didn't throw up from it.

My midwife recommended Pepcid. Tim’s lasted *maybe* 30 minutes. Pepcid lasts a whole day/night

@Amarisa you took two of the extra strength and spaced out or two of the regular strength and spaced out?

two of the extra strength but spaced out.

I was prescribed pepcid helped me so much lol took it twice a day tums dont really help me with heartburn and I get it real bad

I did have pepcid because i had acid reflux and gastritis though, i guess if you’re like me and have terrible stomach problems and heartburn pepcid is better

Can also try Gaviscon. It’s a liquid. I take a sip before bed and that helps tremendously. My OB looked up ingredients and said it’s safe, same as tums and Pepcid .

Baking soda and water work a lot better. For me at least. I’ve done tums, famotidine, & sucralfate. But the only thing that works is a tablespoon of baking soda and water mix

I had to do both with my first. I took Pepcid at breakfast and lunch and then ate like 6-12 (1000mg) tums throughout the evening and night. This time I’m on omeprazole daily and it’s AMAZING!!!!!
